Somebody unstick the bouncies please!(update 1/31)

Update: I'm not sure what happened, or if I did something to my computer or WHAT, but now all the bouncies are jumping up and down again.

If my firewall settings are on high, then they don't bounce. Try adjusting your settings and maybe it will work for you.

I still can't figure out why all my bouncies are stuck in the down position. I don't have a firewall and my Netzero settings are set for medium as far as 'good graphics vs faster page loads'. So why are they stuck?

Do you have WinXP? If so, it has a built in firewall.

I don't know how to fix your bouncies but if you hit the ESC button, they freeze!

*frantically searches keyboard* I don't have an ESC key. Oh wait yes I do..there it is. *punch* I wonder if that'll fix it?

*ETA--nope. That didn't do it. And a few of the bouncies work...DS's Stitch bouncie and the blue bouncie still bounce. But the rest of them are frozen in the down position!

If they used to work for you and now they don't, you'll need to consider all the software and configuration changes that have been made to your computer in the intervening period. I don't recall a specific configuration setting that disables animated gifs, but perhaps there is one. If not, I'd suspect some virus or similar malware is grabbing hold of control after each page displays, thereby interfering with animated gifs.

In plain English for stupid people, please?

I looked under "Tools" on the browser and then looked under the "Settings" (I think that was it)tab where a bunch of stuff was listed. "Enable Animations" was checked and the bouncies are the only smilies not doing their things. The computer smasher is still smashing, the banana is still banana-ing, the cheerleader still cheering and the jumper still jumping. But the bouncies remain frozen.
