I agree with the majority that you should just do it!!! If it's within the budget & you won't have to starve for the remainder of the day, go for it, lol.

In terms of it being snobby, yeah-maybe if that was something you did all the time. But for a one time fun thing on a vacation-do it! I myself have never ridden in one. I have a dd who is almost 11 & a ds who is 8 & they would be THRILLED with a surprise like this.

LOL, you have me wanting to do it. I am going solo in a couple of weeks, and being that I didnt want to rent a car for this entire week like last time (total rental price at the cheapest discounted rate any of them had was 440 for the week) I used it maybe 4 times the entire time, and self parking at DLH is a nightmare. I am getting into LAX at 4:30 which means dead center rush hour. I was going to take the Disneyland Express, but now seriously considering renting a private car as it would at least be more comfortable during rush hour. My family would like the limo, and it sounds like a whole lot of fun. Not sure I need the disco floor only because I wouldnt try dancing in a moving car lol but it does sound like lots of fun. If you can afford it then do it.

You won't find me trying to talk you out of it, in fact I would try and talk you into it. I would absolutely spend that much to surprise and amaze my kids with a once in a lifetime experience I don't think you need to justify to anyone here where you get your money from and how you have saved it, fact is you have the money to spend, so spend it

Heck, our transport to get to DL cost us about $3000 and that was before we even got into the country

OMG!!!!! DO IT!!!! How fun!!!! Limos are neither pretentious nor prommy IMO, we just used one for my BFF's bachelorette party (wine tasting, we all wanted to drink!) and it was sooooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!!!!! We had the best time!! I really think you should do it, every once in a while you have to splurge, looks like this might be the perfect time for you!

I have to say in these days lately all you hear about is how bad the nations economy is, and how it's looking so grim for everyone that you sometimes need to just clear it from your mind for a bit, and just cut loose. From your post this is something very special, and NOT something you would just do to be doing it on any old day. These days sometimes you just have to say you know I am going to do this have fun, and when you get back home reality will return to the daily grind, and stress, so just enjoy it with your son before he hits that age where going to DL, and surprising him will be a much harder thing.

What a great idea! I say yay book it! a great way to start your DL trip heck I have spent that much on F! Tickets and I am cheap lol if your budget is loose then all the better.
Limos equal pretentious when you ride in them all the time; if you haven't or you are a child it's a treat
DL is special and magical and full of dreams so start your trip off with some unexpected fun! And you don't have to drive woohoo!
