We had to cancel our October trip last week so I banked our SW credits. We have decided to go during our spring break which is first week of April. Now luckily this year, Easter is not until later in April. But airfare on SW is still sky high compared to what we were to pay for October. It's $257+ or higher for OW. We paid $214 RT for October.

I see that the first flight of the day (which has a connection) is already totally sold out of all fares, which totally surprised me.

Will the late March/early April fares drop or is this the best I'm going to see? We don't fly during the spring (it's been several years since we had a March trip and I'm pretty sure we paid less than $130 RT for that one!).

I have to use the credits by the middle of June so March/April seemed our best bet with the school schedule.

SW airfares will drop. AND I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

I will say I wouldn't have much confidence in getting cheap fares in March to warm weather (ie: Orlando) because of spring break. That doesn't mean it won't happen, just that I wouldn't count on it.

Fares on other airlines may drop (like they did last year). But I doubt they will drop on SW.

If it's spring break for your area schools, they will probably not drop.

I agree with previous posters, I don't think they will drop related to higher demand. Of course you may get lucky, but it's probably best to book sooner than later. Fares have been out for a while now for that first week in April, it's possible cheaper fares have already sold out. good luck.

Based on info provided your odds don't look good. The fact that it is Spring break overrides the fact that it is not Easter.

Then you add in the info one one flight looking pretty booked. Not much motivation for SW to drop fares.

You bought a ticket at the lowest travel season of the year and now want one during the highest travel season. Good luck!

I agree - can you adjust your trip dates to depart and return on Tuesday or Wednesday? Or perhaps leave a few days earlier?
