Somebody is going to PAY

Six of these heros had spouses, 5 of them had children, all of them had parents. I pray for the families of all of them and send them my deepest sympathies. :(

After watching the news all day, I don't believe this was terrorism. If it was, they will say it. They won't deny it. They would be very quick to put blame on our enemies.

Accidents happen all the time in much less risky lines of work. Just a sad, sad thing.

I agree CRB, our government would be very quick to claim it was terrorism if there was the slightest doubt.

My heart is broken today. I have been praying for the families of these astronauts.

Rajah, sweetie, I'm so sorry that you are so upset. I know we are all feeling upset today, but considering that you live in the debris path, I can only imagine how agitated you must be feeling today. {{{HUGS}}} sweetie.

No matter how it happened it is still such a sad, sad day and we should all say a prayer for their souls and their families.

At first when I heard this Rajah, I thought the same thing, my God, terrorism again...I have like others been watching all day.. my heart goes out to the astronauts and their families.....I think if they find anything questionable, they will release it.. I am thinking it was a tragic accident.. how sad for America... and for Israel... Hugs Rajah..........

Okay, now that I'm back from a day of "shopping/quilting" therapy...

1) I work for a NASA contractor rather than NASA itself. I don't work on anything mission critical at all, and no, I didn't know the people. I do, however, have several co-workers who *did* work with these people. Needless to say, they're even more upset over this than I am.

2) I have no more information than what y'all have. My feelings that it's not just an accident are based solely on 1) the state of the world right now, 2) the date, and 3) the fact that the first Israli was on board, which would make it a *VERY* tempting target for terrorists. Shoot, I don't even have as much information as some of y'all who have been watching the news all day. :p My feelings are solely my own, and don't reflect anything from work or any information I have.

3) Laura (***********) is very correct that we do this so often and so well for so many years that we've gotten complacent about how dangerous space flight really is. NOT WHERE I WORK, but the world in general. A lot of people forget just how much power it takes to get up into space and then return.

4) I do want to make one more observation -- thank you, everyone, for not immediately jumping up and down for the closure of the space program based on this incident. As a whole, the space program has had an unbelievably increadible safety record since Challenger. I'm amazed that so few people (if any) are calling for the closure of the space program over this incident.

Yes Rajah, me too. It was good to even hear it from the President, that space exploration will still go on. This was a very experiment-intensive mission. Not that it can be compared, but along with those loved moms and dads, wives and husbands, sisters and brothers we lost, so was all that data.

My prayers go out to the astronauts family and friends, and to the workers who were a part of that mission.

Oh no ,rajah ,please dont think that, the israeli on board was a beautiful young vibrant woman ,working towards a better mankind ,her "mission" was that of "GOODNESS and KINDNESS" as it was for all of them ,to better our world and make it safer

Kozmo, that was the lady from India. She was the first Indian to go up in space in 1996 I believe it was. This was only her second time going up.

she was born in India but became a US citizen. I guess that means both countries can claim her.

I was reading that the people of India are very proud of her and consider her a role model. I think it's great that two countries can look on her like that.
