I'm just having a tough day/week. My dh left last week for Germany, he'll be home Saturday. Of course this is the week that my grandmother has a stroke and is hospitalized, I am having some medical issues and my youngest was up all night with a nasty cough. I know my dd will be fine. Her cough was probably brought on by being outside so long trick or treating.
The doctors have said that my grandmother has finally stabilized but they don't plan to discharge her just yet.
My medical issues are causing depression and insomnia. Plus I had to go and have some tests done today too. I am sure that all will be well soon but why this week? Why, in the one week that my dh is away, this stuff has to happen?

Ugh, I think I need a nap.

I'm sorry you have so much on your plate at once. Take care of yourself. :grouphug:

I think right now a nap would do wonders for you! You need to give your mind a rest.

I suggest Lunesta! I have insomnia and it's the best thing since sliced bread, IMO. You'll sleep about eight hours and wake up feeling totally refreshed. The bad thing, is the first few days you take it (if you need to take it that long), you can feel groggy in the early evening. At least it did that to me.

I hope you get to feeling better soon! :grouphug:

You really do need a hug. Here's one from me. :grouphug:

Thanks so much you guys. I really needed some encouraging words. My dh is my best friend and the one I turn to when things are tough and with him away, well, it just stinks. I can't even call him so he doesn't even know about my grandmother (who he adores).

It's funny you suggested this. My doctor just gave me a prescription for this last week but I didn't have a chance to take it before my dh left. I don't want to take it for the first time without him since I am the only one taking care of the girls and I don't know what kind of side effects I might have. But as soon as he gets home I will try it. Glad to hear you have good luck with it.

I'm so sorry that you're having a tough time! Sometimes taking some "me" time is a really necessary thing. Guess I need to practice what I preach. :)

Oh my gosh, I'm so glad you mentioned this!

DO NOT take it alone for the first few times. One night at about 3am I woke with a start, realizing that my DD16 hadn't woken me up to tell me that she was home (DH was here). I ran into her room and there she was, all curled up, sleeping.

The next morning I lit into her for not telling me, blah, blah, blah. She's like, "Mom. You're going nuts. I woke you up and we had a conversation!"

That freaked me out. I didn't remember any of it. From that point on, I realized that I wouldn't dare take it when DH was at the firestation.

It's not like Ambien, where you sleep cook, and drive, but obviously there are some side effects. Thank goodness you posted what you did so that I could tell you that! I need to stick to real estate and leave my pretend medical license stuffed neatly away in a drawer. :sad2:

:grouphug: Hopefully once DH is home you can have a bit of time to yourself. Even if it's just a relaxing bath and nap!

Thought it was cute, although it looks like I'm hugging myself :rotfl2: What the heck - I need a hug too today.

Hang in there, it will be ok. :grouphug:
