Some Voices of Liberty news

I learned this yesterday from one of the performers - not a secret, apparently, but not yet announced publicly.

Starting some time in March, the Voices will be performing two days a week at the America Gardens Theater instead of the Rotunda. On those days, a contemporary a capella group will be in the Rotunda. (Pretty sure it isn't American Vybe, but not absolutely sure of that.)

THat's about all I know. No word about what will happen during those times when there are concert series going on.

They just held auditions for A Capella singers singing pop/contemporary music so this might be it. Also VoL is holding auditions the last week of February so this time off will be them practicing with the new cast.
I think they are really trying to bring young people into World Showcase

No kidding... I still dont get the removal of Off Kilter and The British Invasion.. or whatever the last version was called.....

They did not remove "The British Invasion" from Epcot in that most-recent (late 2014) round of terminated contracts that included Off Kilter.
The British Invasion left Epcot in 2011.
(The British Revolution is still performing at the UK pavilion.)

But, Disney DID remove both Mo'Rockin' from Morocco and the Fife and Drum Corp. from the American pavilion in 2014.

Why not put the "contemporary group" in the American Gardens theater?

Keep the VoL in the rotunda.
A class act in a classy environment!

(For the record, I've not seen "young people" fleeing from hearing (gasp)
the perfection that is the VoL.)

I hated to see British Invasion go also,but at least they replaced them with British Revolution,another good Band.

Poor Off Kilter got replaced by LUMBERJACKS!lol

I like that both vocal groups will be singing in the rotunda, so we can choose to enjoy both of them in that great space by visiting on different days.

Forgot to post this when I got home, but I can correct a bit of the information in my original posting.

The Voices will indeed be in the AmGar two days a week. And the new group will be in the AmGar the other five days. However, they will *not* be in the rotunda the other two days. It sounds like the rotunda will be dark on days when the Voices are outside.

Also, on their AmGar days, the Voices will typically be performing later than usual, with sets going as late as 7 pm. Because they will not be directly linked to the AmAdv schedule, there will also be the possibility of having longer sets on those days, instead of the typical 14 minutes / 4 songs that seem to go so quickly.

Some of this will change during the seasons when there are concert series - the vocal groups will still be at the AmGar, but they'll be performing earlier than normal so as not to conflict with the concerts.

And all of this will change at Christmas time - sounds like the Voices will be full time in the rotunda, and the new group may be off entirely during those times.

Everything is subject to change, of course. Maybe the new group becomes more popular than Frozen, in which case they begin appearing everywhere and at all times.

^^^^^^^yeah- I am still angry about Fife and Drum getting the boot. I love Voices of Liberty. There is nothing wrong with classic American tradition.
Wish there was more at the parks. (my opinion)
