Hey everyone!

Elissa and I have just finished the update from our recent Japan trip. This ended up being a MASSIVE undertaking as the final result is more than 100 pages of photos, videos, trip reports, and travel guides from 18 of Japan's finest (and in a few cases not so finest) theme parks!

One thing that really was a bizarre experience was going to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. The place was like the cloned the Florida studio, added some of the greatest hits from IOA, and shuffled are the rides around!

Jurassic Park is where MiB is, Spiderman is where Mummy is, T-2 is where Twister is, Backdraft is where earthquake is, etc, etc...

There's quite a few pics and you can see the eerie similarity to the Florida park.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the update. We tried to do it in such a way that it would help you plan a trip to Japan!

Here is the direct link to the update:

Those are awesome and you did a great job organizing them!
Thanks for sharing - Jo

Very cool! I had to do a "double take" on some of those images that looked nearly identical to USO! ::yes::

Thanks for sharing!! :smooth:

Mahalo,
It is likely our next Universal trip will be to Japan and I have been looking for pictures. Really appreciate it.
What differences did you notice? Any rides not in UO?
Donna

I personally find it kind of sad how they didn't really use much imagination to make that park (from what I can see). After seeing a creation like IOA, you wouldn't expect them to be guilty of practically cloning an entire park.

Having been there myself, I completely and utterly disagree-this is NOT a cloned park.

Molokai-I'm elsewhere on line now-kind of central to IOA if you get my drift...any questions, hit me there....

So if the SF and NY areas look almost exactly the same as USF, it has no unique major attractions as far as I know, and it's not cloning, what would you call it?

A completely different feel of park. That's what I would call it. I started to think that it was the same in New York, but, it's uniquely different. The weirdness is how much it can look the same, but, it's been taken up a notch.

robbalvey, I spent a long time reading a lot of stuff on your trip, very cool. I really want to go over there eventually.

You did all of that in 2 weeks was it?

McDonalds should hire Elissa for commercials :p
