Earlier today, I got a friend request on Facebook. I admit that I probably accept friends to easy on Facebook. I often get friend requests from people in the local acting community or people who are writers. I accept them. If they turn out to be creepy, I delete them. So, I accepted this guy.
Within minutes of accepting him, I started getting private messages from him. He thanked me for accepting him as a friend and told me he thought I was beautiful. lol! RED FLAG!
On his profile, he had a message he had written to his dead wife. It was about missing her and how he was trying to do his best to raise their 12 year old daughter. His pictures all looked like professional model shots. So did the pictures of the daughter. Starting to look creepy!
He started asking me questions about myself. Nothing real personal, but way too friendly for someone I didn't know. He said he was 48. I told him I was 62. He said he was an engineer, living in New York, originally from the UK.
I tried Googling his name. Nothing came up. So, I put his picture into Google image. It appeared on numerous scammer alert websites. He goes under multiple names and hits on older, single women. Good grief! What a low life.
So, I typed a little message on his Facebook profile telling him what I thought of him and deleted him. He immediately deleted my post. Sadly, I saw that another woman had posted on him profile. I sent her a message warning her to be careful.
So, it was an interesting experience. Fortunately for me, although I tend to be a trusting person (probably too much so), I'm not stupid and I watch Dr. Phil! lol!
