Some trash stole my DVC magnet last night

Staying at OKW. Woke up this morning to go to the gym and noticed that someone stole the oval DVC magnet from our car. I didn't realize trash like this were DVC members. Unfortunate.

Front desk was nice enough and offered to pay for a replacement, but I don't think these are sold anymore. The DVC guide was less than useless.

Did you see the video of the girls trashing a sand sculpture in HI? People are going to have no respect all over! Disney people aren’t immune to being idiots.

Sorry that happened. FWIW, not everyone who stays or visits OKW is a Member.

You're right. I guess I assumed that a non-member wouldn't want the magnet. I have one of the newer "mickey" magnets also and they didn't take that one. I figured they stole the oval one because those are harder to come by these days and only a member would care.

CM in the General Store told me that she has heard of this happening often enough - that and the antenna toppers being stolen as well because they are also rare items.

My DVC magnet, that they sent us recently (that some folks didn't get), was stolen off my car at BLT in March. I bought a new one (similar to what they mailed for free but this has an area to put the year you joined DVC with sticker) and have that on my car with my AP magnet. I will take of the DVC one when we go to BWV next month, while we are there. Don't want it to get stolen.

@rg35, Sorry this happened to you. Best wishes on finding a suitable replacement ... or, perhaps, the peace to move on.

I once "lost" my truck's antenna at a Wyndham timeshare stay. Not a topper ... the entire antenna. That seemed a bold move?? Very odd.

My daughter had hers "taken" from her home complex - in Rochester NY!

By any chance, did you happen to drive through a carwash? That is where mine disappeared.

No. Both magnets were on the car when we got back from Epcot last night. One gone this morning when I woke up to go to the fitness center. I guess being angry helped my workout lol

Sorry this happened to you. This is the exact reason I do not put them on my car.
I have a question. When you say the DVC guide was less than useless what happened?
Did you call your guide and ask about a new one and he never returned your call or was he/she unaware there were ever any replacements available.

Our last trip, we had someone put a magnet on our car....a Annual Pass one......I was not happy.....those magnets will scratch the paint if its dirty. Have no idea why someone would touch another persons car.

Same thing 2 years ago - my oval DVC stolen off the back of my car at OKW - very irksome - luckily for me - I had another at home.

I didn't think people spending tens of thousands of dollars for a luxury vacation product would be compelled to steal a $2 magnet.

Arguably, anyone staying at OKW likely spent several thousands to stay there, DVC member or not. Frankly, people who frequently visit WDW and are NOT DVC members, usually spend MORE than DVC members on their accommodations. Isn't that kind of the whole DVC sales pitch? That it's cheaper to buy DVC?

I understood it as more of a “camradery” betrayal than a question of morality. There should be an understanding and sense of pride from being in the dvc club. Or really just respect your fellow human and keep off their stuff.

Ugh! Sorry to hear that OP. Losers are Everywhere, Disney is no exception.

I had this same thing happen to me, I was so mad. I found some on Etsy and bought a new one, can’t tell the difference between the “DVC” one and this one and it only cost $6.00.

Now I take them all off when I go to WDW.

I do wish you the peace to move on.

My car is an old one, 1998 and not metal, so magnets don’t stick!! I have decals on my windows. I suppose that’s a plus.
