Hi,

Fist time poster hope I'm posting in the right place. I've just booked DLP for myself, my partner and my little girl (4) for Jan 26th-29th staying in Sequoia Lodge half board. I've been to DLP before about 6 years ago just on an adults holiday,so only really did the main attractions, obviously this time we want to experience the real magic of Disney for our little girl.

I've been reading through alot of the posts and to be honest it is alot to take in!
Can anyone offer some tips and advice on things not to miss, wheres best to eat half board, is it busy that time of year? money saving strategies etc.

Any advice would be very welcome!

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi, welcome to Dis :)

As you're staying on-site i'd recommend going to the park during EMH (extra magic hours) from 8am. Some of Fantasyland and Discoveryland rides are open and it's a really lovely way to see the park without crowds. Your DD will get the most of the rides at that time as they're normally walk on.

Take a look at the trip report posts and read a few of them. It will give you an idea of how regular visitors structure their days, where to eat etc.

Hope you have a great time :goodvibes

Hi,

Welcome to Disboards DLP!

Firstly I would say that travelling with adults and travelling with kids makes DLP a very different holiday. I am a seasoned solo traveller but when I go with family (neice and nephew), I tend to plan everything that bit more. Especially if you are going for quite a few days. Always good to get some down time as well as doing the main parks. Sequoia is a good place to enjoy downtime because of the pool.

On eateries, this really depends on both your taste and budget. However, being that your at the Sequoia, definately go to the Hunters Grill one of the nights. It's a buffet and it has a wide selection of starters, mains (including a wide range of meats), desserts, cheese etc. It's a good alrounder and good value for money.

I recently ate in Bistrot Chez Remy and it's now my top spot for eating. It has a lovely atmosphere, the staff service is second to none and the food (as long as you eat what is on the somewhat restricted menu) is delicious, so if you could manage it, I would recommend highly.

On counter service, I love toad hall. Can't beat a good fish and chips and the decor is too cute.

For character meals - I'd go inventions brunch if your budget and days of travel allow.

Must do's for me include:

The new Ratatoille ride
Buzz laser blast
Princess Pavillion (expect to queue)

(Although to be honest I'm not big on rides lol)

Oh and don't miss Dreams!

Hope this helps but let us know if you have specific questions as doing a broad sweep of 'must do's' is difficult as everyone is different. Might also be worthwhile getting a book to help...although I think the best are the brit guides and I got an email yesterday from Amazon saying the latest book's release date has been pushed back from Feb, so who knows when it will appear!

Good luck x
