We had mostly good experiences this trip. Our Chef Mickey ps's got cancelled due to Charley. So much for our first night tradition. But the box meal the Contemporary provided was nice.
We ate breakfast at Concourse Steakhouse on 8/14. Limited menu but it was quite nice. Everything we wanted to it didn't seem limited to us. Then, since Fort Wilderness was still 'under water and dropped trees' our HDDR ps's got cancelled for Sat night. Made ps for Cinderella Castle dinner. Dh had steak and said it was really wonderful. My prime rib was okay, not great.
8/15...finally got to eat at CM's. Had breakfast and it was the usual good meal. Moved over to BWV this day. Ate later on at ESPN and had a good meal. Dh really like it here and will certainly be going back.
8/16...ate at Donald's Breakfastasaurus. We checked in early for our 10:00 ps since it was so hot. We were actually seated at 10!! Had a terrific server and as usual a great meal. THis one is one of our favorites. Good food. However I sure would like to give some people a lesson on buffet line etiquette!
Ate at HDDR that night. Food was just okay but we loved the show. Dd wants it to be our new 'tradition'. Because our original ps got cancelled due to Charley (which I had made about 8 months before) we ended up in the balcony, on the sides, way back. Not so great but looks like we'll be doing it again.
8/17...ate breakfast in our room. And then late lunch at 50's P/T. We had a pretty good server this time. Darned if I can remember his name tho. My favorite pot roast was a little off and dry this time but the banana split was to die for!! Dh had the fried chicken and really liked it.
8/18...again, breakfast in our room. Then late lunch/early dinner at Alfredo's. Now, my dd and I really loved this spot last Dec. It was just okay this time. We did have a server, Rudy, who certainly didn't help make the event any better. In fact the manager was constantly having to tell Rudy to do something or other. My dh had a sampler type plate and loved the Fettuccini Alfredo!! I had their version of chicken parm and it was very dry.
8/19....We had lunch at Plaza Pavillion in MK. THis is our family's standing joke. But, for some reason we eat there at least once every trip!! Had chicken strips and they were yummy as usual.
Dinner on the 19th was at Marrakesh. Yummy is all I can say. Dh had the roasted lamb and was in heaven. I had the beef shish kabbob. I had one very happy mouth. dd had chicken and it was okay but not great. She is not a very adventurous eater so she had to put up with our eating at Marrakesh. Poor baby. NOT!!
8/20....breakfast in room again. Then came my dh's favorite meal. Dinner at Crystal Palace. Terrific buffet. We will be going back again in Nov. And as someone else noted about the bread pudding...I could only taste the banana also. Never tasted the Bailey's. But, everything was wonderful. Finally, a meal that everyone loved!!
8/21...Breakfast at Cape May. Terrific. This was a meal that we had never had before and will be back for again!!! WE had a terrific server, the characters had the best interaction with the guests, the food was out of this world. Everything was wonderful.
Later, we ate lunch at Big River Grill and Brewing. I was quite pleasantly surprised. I was prepared to find an 'okay' meal but it was quite good. Of course, it may have had something to do with the fact that the skies had opened and the rain was torrential and the lightning was incredible. But, the food was good and the service good also. Although our server was a little over-chatty about her personnal life. We were going to stay a little longer and wait out the storm with some dessert but when the waitress asked if we wanted dessert, we said sure did, she came back with our check!!!
So, all in all, we had pretty good eating while in WDW this trip. Now, I'm waiting for the end of the week to book the next round of PS's!!!
