Some thoughts on FP+ and DAS

Well we have our 5th day under our belt, and I have to say, the FP+ system has thus far been working beautifully for us. No glitches, everything has gone smoothly. No problems changing times on the fly etc... I haven't attempted a 4th FP+, but I really do enjoy the FP+ system. We honestly have not found FP+ hard to use at all. The tip I have, which is based on a complaint I saw on here a while back, is - when you are trying to change your time on one selection, make sure you pay attention to what time your other rides are. One woman was complaining that there were hardly any other options available. However, you have to consider the other rides. If you have a 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 FP+ and you're trying to change your 2:00, you may have to change the times on your other ones, in order to free up an option, otherwise it'll only show you options before 12:00 or after 4:00, and may make it seem like there's nothing left, when there is. I did have to do that a few times.

As for the loss of spontaneity that I've seen commented about, we honestly haven't felt like that at all. We have our FP+, but 1) we don't feel married to them. Some days we skipped one because we did something else instead. 2) You can change them on the fly, when possible. Sometimes we changed a time or experience, because again, we decided to do something different, or the kids were enjoying something. But in no way has FP+, changed the fact that we are following our children's lead and their interests.

As for the DAS (Disability Access Card) - I think they're still working out the kinks with the digital system. Now, overall it has worked well, but, I don't think it's flawless yet by any means. Our first day the system froze trying to issue us a DAS. Another time the CM had no idea how the system worked and tried to tell me that only my daughter (who was on another ride somewhere else) could get the return time (anyone in the party can get the return time, but the person for whom the DAS is issued MUST be present to redeem the ride). A couple times it took them 2 or 3 times to get us all scanned in correctly. All that said - the DAS has been a lifesaver, and we could not have done it without it. Our trip would have been a completely different (and miserable) experience. Thankfully, between FP+ and DAS, we have never waited more than 10 minutes.
