Eric Jones is an AGT semi-finalist magician and now occasional performer on DCL, so I thought that this would be a good place to post a review of his iPic magic show, Impossible. I searched the internet for reviews of iPic magic shows and couldn’t find any, so hopefully this will be helpful for anyone who wants to know what to expect from an iPic magic show.

DW, DS (14), and I saw the Friday night show on November 30th in Westwood. As AGT fans, it was thrilling to see Sara and Hero sitting at the end of our row. Sara let me pet Hero, which was a pretty fun way to start off the evening. It was funny to see Hero going down the escalator with her; I’ve never seen a dog on an escalator before. Sara told me that Hero doesn’t like escalators too much, but he was certainly a trooper for her.

The show consisted of some mindblowing magic which I won’t reveal here. Suffice to say, he is known for his mind-blowing coin tricks, and your minds will definitely be blown. DW, DS, and I all participated, and there were ample opportunities for anyone who wanted to be part of the show.

My first tip is one that I did not realize at first. The front two rows, called premium plus, are actually more expensive than the premium seats for the same reason that they are normally cheaper for movies: they are closer to the screen, or in this case, the stage, and there was a stage, if a flimsy one, installed for this purpose. Given that there were many empty seats in the premium section whereas most of the premium plus seats were taken, I’m guessing that most other attendees chose the seats they typically use when they are going to the movies instead of the ones which were much better for a magic show. It was definitely worth the extra $10, since proximity to the close-up magic was more important than being able to recline.

My second tip is to book the VIP experience for the $35 more. There was only a limited description on what was included. For us, the experience turned out to be enjoying a semi-private performance and conversation with Eric and another couple, and we were joined by a friend of his, who is also his lawyer, at the end. DS has been spending most of his free time over the past few months perfecting various card tricks, and it was a wonderful opportunity for him to perform some tricks for Eric, who couldn’t have been more encouraging and positive. He even gave DS one of the card decks he used in the show, which has already become a treasured memento which he has scarcely put down since. The VIP experienced included a few rounds of champagne and brownie bites. I had been expecting more in the way of desserts from the brief description on the website, but that was the only underwhelming part of the experience.

Eric is a world-class magician, down-to-earth, and couldn’t have been any nicer. I will definitely be back for another iPic magic show and book the VIP experience. If you are lucky enough to be on a Disney cruise where Eric is performing, you won’t want to miss his show. If anyone is interested, I can try to reach out to him to find out his upcoming cruises because he gave us his card and encouraged us to reach out.
