Perhaps we can get technology to work for us and provide some different options, other than ignore.
Some suggestions:
Pig Latin: Posts and PMs from DISers on your Pig Latin list will automatically be translated into Pig Latin. Just for fun.
Readers' Digest: These will be summarized into neat little capsules. Also known as Pop Daddying somebody.
Fink: These will automatically be reported to moderator. No muss, no fuss and you don't even have to read them!
Agreeable: Turns posts into something you can agree with! This way everybody can post what they want and everyone can read what they want. Perfect, isn't it?!!!!
Page 2: Dumps a post to page 2, regardless of how many replies it gets!
Name Call: Posts a name calling response to any thread started by anyone on your Name Call list.
Adore: Like the Name Call list but with a fawning response instead!
Act Like You're Ignoring: Makes it look like someone is on your ignore list but they're not. You can read stuff and still blow people off!
....and finally, the Nothing Button! This one makes no predeterminations about anyone, let's you decide on your own if and how you'll react to any post and lets everyone who uses this feature use their own good judgement.
