Some ?s About Hilton Head

We have never been to HH and are considering trying for a grand villa in Nov. '08. We would have to book at 7 months out. Does anyone have any thoughts about the possibility of getting this? We would be bringing our 2 sons and daughters-in-law. Is anytime during Nov. the best time to try?

I would think that you would probably have a pretty good chance of getting a GV at 7 months for any time OTHER than Thanksgiving week. The resort is usually pretty empty at that time of year.

The weather will be pretty "iffy" -- you likely wont be able to swim in the ocean, but the pools are heated, so they will be an option. Golfing should be pretty good at that time, and shopping is ALWAYS a good thing to do!

Thanks, I noticed a fireplace in the pix of the GV. Do you know if can be used? Of course shopping is always a good thing. I also considered a trip to Savannah. We where thinking of the first week in Nov. Are all the restuarants open year round? I was reading the DVC website and they have quite a few things listed to do. I would hope they offer everything all year that would not involve the going into the ocean.

went to hhi last nov. during nj teachers convention time - 2nd week nov. weather was great - sunny, mid 70's - played golf and made it to the beach. great time at dvc hhi hhi and disney vc a great combination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the fireplace can be used and firewood is provided in season.

We went last year (not as vacation club members) and are going again this November during Thanksgiving week with my wifes entire family. All the restaurants on the island were up and running and it seemed as if nothing was closed for the off season. Disney does run all their programs onsite even during this time. We did the kayaking, biking, pools, campfire and the kids went in the ocean. It was only in the upper 60's but they had a blast. The CM's told us the weather was in the 70's just the prior week. We think it's a great resort and great island to go to. Have fun.
