Some Questions....

We stayed at HoJo's this summer, and we did have a fridge in our room. Just an average double room. Plus, you can get milk, cereal, fruit, bread etc. in the gift shop. Or pick up muffins from Mimi's just across the street. We were at DL for a week with two kids, and only went to a restaraunt for breakfast twice, and that was by choice -- first and last days there.

Food wise, defineatly invest in snacks! Dedicate a backpack to snacks that you can bring into the park. My family has a "soft cooler" that we put ice and soda into. It is really, really economical when trying to save money. Also, take advantage of the free water at the Coke Corner on Mainstreet and the Mission Tortilla factory free tortillas!

If you go to Coke Corner on Mainstreet, they will give you a big cup of water. Its not just like a little complimentary cup, its a regular size drink with a lid and straw. Im sure that you can get free water all around the park like that, but Coke Corner is the only place that I know of.

Tropicana on Harbor is usually REALLY good prices and they have a fridge, microwave & breakfast. Oh and Tropicana also sells water for $1, if you happen to forget to bring water with you!

I second the Tropicana. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have been very satisfied. My in-laws stay at the Carousel Inn and they are very satisfied with that hotel as well. I am sure that you have thought of this, but if you are a AAA member, be sure to mention that. You will get a discount.

As far as food goes, I think $30.00 a day is a little low. Usually when my DH and I go we buget at least $25.00 a meal, and we are picky eaters!
