1) If we decide to stay at the Raddison the night before, my husband will drop me and kids off at port in the morning then go back and leave the car at the hotel and get on the shuttle. Will they allow us to check in without him next to me?? Last time we cruised it wasn't a problem, but that was pre-9/11.

2) When we get off the ship at the end does the raddison have shuttle buses waiting to pick people up or do we have to take a cab back to the hotel?

3) Do the televisions have VCRs in the rooms?

4) On the eastern cruise are there any stops that have gambling?

5) Has anybody had their hair done on board? If so, what did you have done, who did it and were you happy?

6) I know there is a gym on board. What is the price to use? Where can I find information on the classes?

Thanks for your help!! This board is G-R-E-A-T!!!

Can answer a couple of questions:

3) TV/VCR: partial answer here -- All rooms have a TV, Cat 10 -12 don't have VCR. Maybe higher catagorys have the vcr (most likely cat 1-3).

4) The Dutch side of St. Maarten does (where the Magic docks). The french side does not have gambling (but you can go around naked on their beaches:o ) So on St. Maarten you get to pick your vice.:D

5) Hair, what is hair? They do hair braiding on the ship. Don't know about haircuts or styling.

6) as far as classes go, check the Navigators from Barb or Dave's web sites

I don't know about the Radisson, but Avis has shuttle busses that will take you to their desk at the Radisson.

The suites (categories 1-3) have in-room VCR's and a list of movies to borrow. The rest of the rooms have TV only.

I believe the exercise equipment in the spa is free to use. I'm not sure about the classes (step aerobics and such), but I believe they are free, too.

I'm not sure about the check-in but I see no reason there would be a problem as long as he has his I.D. and is on the manifest.

There are shuttles going to the Raddison when you return. They run every few minutes. I've not had any problems getting one back.
One question, why do yyou all not take the shuttle to the ship together?

#1.....we did the same thing when we went in October. The kids and I checked in, but they wouldn't give me his KTTW card until he showed up and checked himself in at the desk.

#1...In Feb 03, my husband dropped me and DD off at terminal and returned car. I was able to check him in and get his Key to the World card without him being there. I think I did show his birth certicate, but not drivers license.
#2...I've seen both Radisson and Avis shuttles taking people back to Radisson/Avis. The first time, we were waiting for Avis, but the Radisson driver told us to hop in. The second time the Avis driver didn't ask any questions. Both shuttles go to same place.

1)
Will they allow us to check in without him next to me??

Yes, ever since the 14th Amendment was passed...

2)
When we get off the ship at the end

Unlike humans, the Magic offers no aft exit...

5)
Has anybody had their hair done on board?

Probably.

6)
I know there is a gym on board. What is the price to use?

Free (not counting the price of the cruise itself)...

When we sailed on January I could check in without my hubby but he still needed to get on line when he got there to show his I.D. before they would issue his KTTW card.

Make sure he has his I.D. and cruise documents with him....or they will not let him into the terminal after taking the shuttle.

Avis and Radisson both have shuttles they run all morning from the port to the hotel/car rental....look for the large white tent in the DCL parking lot and that is where you would catch the shuttle.

There is a salon onboard in the spa...they have hair stylists and manicurists as well as the other spa personnel. I have had a manicure and pedicure onboard. They were not as thorough as my regular place, but were OK.

There is no cost to use the fitness center which is in the spa. You have to walk thru the spa to get to fitness center. You must be 18 and they do offer different classes. You might be able to check barb and tony's site for class info from one of their posted Navigators.
