Some questions for the Pro's

Hello I have a couple of questions. We are going to DLP on Sat 16th for 4 nights and have not been before. Staying at Santa fe

1. Lion King Show -How do you get tickets? do you have to pay for this?

2. Is there a supermarket on site where we can buy some bread, cheeses, ham and wine etc for a picnic

3. "Good Morning Fantasyland" - Eating your continental Bfast in the park 1hr b4 it opens - do you have to book in advance, can you do this more than once?

4. Is there any Wi-Fi access on site?

5. Are towels provided at Santa Fe?

6. Should i change lots of £'s into €'s b4 I go or use my credit card?

7. What's the bar and restaurant like at Santa Fe? any good? or should we eat elsewhere?

I'm no expert, first time ever to DLP was for me in February, we were in the Santa Fe too.

Lion King - tickets are free - you get them outside and round the corner from the theatre in Discoveryland. Remember to ask for tickets for the English-speaking show, as there are other versions too. Be prepared to queue for tickets though.

I don't know about a supermarket to buy things for a picnic - however there is a filling station just next door to the Santa Fe, where you can buy snacks etc much cheaper than in the parks. Also, if you are having breakfast either at your hotel or at a GMF, you can take croissants, cheese, ham fruit etc from there and have them later for lunch (lots of people do this).

GMF - you can, based on availability, have GMF every morning of your stay at the Santa Fe. Ask when you check in at the hotel for your GMF. Or, you could try phoning the official Disney website phone number, to see if you can book them now, before you go?

Don't know about Wi-Fi access at the hotel, sorry.

Towels are provided at the Santa Fe.

I didn't use my credit card at DLRP, I took Euros.

The bar at the Santa Fe is quite nice, and fairly relaxed. Going on my one experience at the Santa Fe for the dinner buffet, I would recommend you go elsewhere for your meals. Just because, for a similar price, you get better service and a wider variety of choice at several of the restaurants in the Village. I didn't even make it through the doors of the hotel restaurant for breakfast - the queue was as far as the eye could see.

The only one I know the answer to is the Lion King tickets.

Grab a map when you get in the park, this will tell you what times the English speaking shows are on and also what time you can get tickets for those shows.

The tickets are free and handed out at the pre-allocated time inbetween the train station in Discoveryland and Star Tours. Only one member of you party needs to queue for all ofyour tickets and it is advisable to get there around 1/2 an hour before, on a busy day even an hour, to guarantee a seat.

I've never done this, but if you eat at the CS place in where the Lion King is staged you can see (or at least hear) the show without queueing for tickets.

Pretty sure it's only the Hotel New York that has Wifi, sorry. Though I am fairly sure there are internet phones in all the hotels. There's one in the Cheyenne behind the dining room. That was handy for closing deals while away lol

Hi there -- just a quick note -- if you're going to use a credit card at DLRP, you can do a few things. I'd recommend linking your credit card to your hotel ID card and that way you can charge most purchases to the hotel ID and have one lump sum billed to your card when your leave. Second, you can use your credit card, but it might be a good idea to let your bank know (if applicable) that you're going to charging up a storm in Paris...otherwise, they'll security-lock down your card faster than you can say Hakuna Matata!

re: Good Morning Fantasyland breakfast -- yes, absolutely, take advantage of it, that's why it's there. It's free! And after you've had breakfast, you're smack dab in the middle of the park when it's just opening. Perfect... If you have a package of some sort, you can call ahead of time (to whomever you booked the package with) and add it to the package for every morning you're there. (It sells out, so book early and then your plans are set...)

Thanks to info on this board before we went at Easter we got an American Express Travellers cheque currency card. This enabled us to load it with Euros online before we went which we then used around the park, village etc. There was no commision and you could add as much or little at a time but it did cost £20 to set up but well worth it. The exchange rate was often better than postoffice rate.

hi there there is the auchan supermarket 1 stop back on the train in val de europe takes 5 min to get there and then a couple of minute walk you can stock up with loads of supplies there a lot cheaper

1 person can que up for 4 tickets for the lion king i think i had to show my tickets to the park and got 1 for each they go pretty fast as i think there is only 1 english speaking show per day....but i could be wrong

we took a post office travel card it is in euro currency costs £10 to buy and is like a visa electron, top up at the post office before you go as often as you like easier than travellers cheques no transaction fees as it is in euros and can be used in shops or ATM's though there is a fee for using atm but someone can top it up from home in an emergency as well you can get one in the post office just need to bring your passport to purchase one and the card is activated in 24 hrs once you choose your pin number the card is also valid for 2 years so you can refund any remaining money when you get home or add to it for the next holiday

The first time we went, we didn't know about the Lion King Show... we were just hungry. We grabbed lunch at the snack bar, and were treated to the surprise of a show. Eating there was great, as the kids were free to stand up at the rail and dance around a little bit without being in anyone's way... But you do have to have food in your hand to get up there.

No Wi-fi at Santa Fe, but there is a pay kiosk thing above the bar where you put in a few coins and get to whatever you need.

We used our CC in the park for everything. I am not big on carrying cash, as I find it harder to keep track of my purchases... So I had maybe 100 euro in my pocket and rest was Credit/Debit card.

Towels are provided, but you might want to ask for extras as soon as you checkin... typical hotel towels.. too small to dry much of anything, much less both hair and body. The food at the hotel was decent... I thought the desserts s*cked, but that could just be me....

The bar was really nice. There was live music- and a crazy dude in leather pants running around making a fool of himself- I think he was convinced he was a professional dancer . He wasn't paid staff- but funny none the less. I suggest the margarita at the bar. Stiff, but fabulous!

They had WiFi at Newport Bay and also at the Holiday Inn - but the HI was a different network so I had to pay again for a separate WiFi pass at the HI. Was not aware the SF had limited WiFi. Will find out tonight.

For stuff you may want to take into the park, you should grab it in that little shop in the train station. We went in with 4 1 liter bottles of Culligan water in our backpacks. It may not have been the coldest water- but I didn't have to stand in a long long line for it, and I didn't have to mortgage my first born for it, either

We've never ever got tickets for The Lion King show, we've always just ate our dinner at the McDonalds and saw the show from our table as we ate our dinner.

Yes there is towels. Not sure about WIFI, but I think there was someing about the internet in the hotel can't be certain.

I liked the bar in the hotel, however, did sometimes find it hard to get somewhere decent to sit. I would recomend the Cocktail called Yuckatan (sp?) very nice it vodka, passoa, banana nectar and orange juice. very nice but can be expensive to drink a few.

Not sure about the food in the hotel we never ate there only at breakfast.

We just sat in the eating area for the Lion King Show. Its a good enough view where ever you sit and can eat food at same time so do two things at one saving time.

When we went we only took euros, we took out around 100 a day but never used them all, we kept rest in a locked suitcase to keep them safe, however, thinking about taking travellers cheques when we go on Wednesday so if they go missing then we can claim them back.

If you stay at the Santa Fe it is really easy to go to the petrol station and buy things for your picnic. We mainly bought 1 1/2 liters of water and some snacks here. They have sandwiches, fruit etc. The next picture of the petrol station is taken from the parking lot in front of the reception of the hotel. The station is a two or three minute walk from the reception.

This was the view of the Lion King Show from our table. We sat in the first row behind the reserved seating. We didn't want to wait in a line for the tickets so we decided to lunch at the Cafe Hyperion and see the show at the same time. And we were really glad that we did this.

I think we had four towels (good quality, two smaller and two larger). If you have more than two persons in a room I would definitely ask for some extra towels.
