Some questions about masks.

I detest masks, but we were 100% compliant on our two pandemic trips. Their property. Their rules. I said that only to make this point. Things must have seriously deteriorated since our trip at Thanksgiving because I don't recall seeing even one violation by anybody anywhere. And I would have noticed. Because I'm me. My attitude became, "If everybody else can put up with it, I guess I can too because I know 'all' of these people don't necessarily want to be doing it." Did I see an occasional nose out? Probably. But it was quickly corrected or I'd remember that too.

I'm surprised to read some of the reports. It's extremely hard for me to believe it's changed that much (mostly based on other threads here and on other forums). I fully expect Easter to be just like Thanksgiving was as far as compliance. If it's not, I will be shocked.

Yeah, I get that my experience seems different than others. And to be honest, I hesitated sharing this detail because it'll expose my neuroses. But some days, if I noticed a fair few folks who weren't compliant, I'd start to count. (As a solo traveler, it was also a weird way to pass the time). All morning at DHS/AK it was zero (or I never started counting, because compliance was generally great), while in my first ten minutes at MK I saw 5 in the Main Street Bakery alone, and later in the day 7 in the 7DMT line. And all passing CMs without correction (again, no judgement, just stating what happened).

To compare that to Universal, I counted/recall near-zero during my September trip, and 32 while I was walking towards Diagon Alley in December. Is that a lot compared to the total number of people who passed through the gates at all the parks each day? Nope. But it was enough to make me notice, and certainly enough to make me think compliance isn't perfect. It is what it is.

Again, doubling down on previous posters - this is always YMMV, totally situational, and can change on a dime.

Last time we visited was in December. We only went to Epcot, Boardwalk, and checked out Riviera.
Epcot seemed to have near 100% compliance from what I saw. The Boardwalk area on the other hand was about 70%. There were clearly families that were defiant. Riviera was not a true test, as we were eating & drinking.

We were there 2 months ago and everyone in Disney (Including Disney Springs) wore a mask. CMs were also shouting out to people if their masks dropped below there nose or they were walking while eating or drinking.

I was there last week and did not see ANYONE not wearing a mask. There was signage warning that guests not properly wearing an approved mask would be removed.

Map out the mask-free relaxation areas in advance.
To some CM’s, there really are no valid exceptions to the “eating or drinking while stationary”. They will assist taking you to medical if it’s truely needed.

Ouf , it seems people have hard times understanding that you put your mask on for others. I will wait a little before going back . Hope everyone had a great vacation !

So just pull to the side and stop to take your inhaler. No problem. You're stationary.

Am asthmatic. Really hoping I don’t get yelled at considering.

I'm asthmatic & just took a few steps to the side as needed (people tend to crowd in the middle of walkways, & leave the areas along walls, foliage, & fencing open) - pull mask down, squirt inhaler, pull mask up, breathe a bit, then repeat. So far, I've been at WDW over 40 days with masks.

We are now a week away from HHI. Then we head to the BWV. Thank you all, I think we will be happy with this trip. DH and I are fully vaccinated now, and neither of us had bad side effects.

If a park is at capacity, don’t visit that day! We made the mistake of going to MK yesterday, and it was at capacity. Not only was it super crowded trying to walk around, people were not following the 6 feet social distancing guidelines. It was like pre covid lines. People right up next to you in lines. We had to ask a few to step back. Also, saw lots of guests with their masks pulled down. Just too many people in the parks to properly police everyone.

This is our third visit since the parks opened - we visited in august and September. This is the first time the parks felt crowded and we saw mask non compliance.

Can’t argue with that. As suggested, step aside & quickly use.

YMMV, between you & your health care provider but, generally thot not utilized more than a few times a day.

Thank you for your comments. Even though it’s the first time in over a year since we have been, it’s still OK with us if there are (many) things we miss. We have another vacation in May, and another one on July. If we have to leave a park we will. Tom and I are just so happy to be packing our car with bags to go on a vacation!!
