Some pics from the storms near TO last week.

I just got an e-mail this morning with the exact same pics with the subject line "Pictures from Fergus last Friday". These pics sure do make the rounds :rotfl:

Not sure about the pics but I was driving through Fergus last Friday to pick our puppy up just as the storm was hitting and I sure didn't see any clouds like that..... in fact you couldn't see anything through the rain and grey dark clouds..... the whole sky was grey and just dumping buckets of water down so not sure how someone got pics like that!!

The roads were all flooded everywhere to the point that we had to keep pulling off!!

Hey Photoj, I wouldn't be assuming that they are authentic as I received them a few months back before the storms that wrecked havoc in T.O.

Not so fast MouseKrazy - maybe the story's about plagiarism, or copyright violation.

i have been receiving these EXACT pics for months now after EVERY storm...this week alone I have seen them here and received them from friends 4 times. One email said they were taken in Milverton, one in Fergus, one in Orangeville and one in Toronto. I have seen them before as well and supposedly were taken in the US. They are beautiful pics but where they were taken is going to remain a mystery!!! :ssst:

Well all I have to go on was what I was sent and what I saw on Dave's camera at his place. Photoj I would love to send them to you but with what is being said here I would hate for you to publish them and find out they are not what is portrayed. I can still send them to you without a problem if you like.

The reason i was asking about the photos was that we recieved the same ones at the photo desk yesterday and i was trying to find out if they came from the same person. We managed to figure out that they were taken in the US. They also weren't take on a digital camera becuase all the images have the name slide1 slide2 .... which tells me that they were taken with slide film. I know the names can be changed to what ever you want...but why change it to slide??? Also there is no Exif data in the images. That is information that is embedded into the image when it is shot with a digital camera telling you what camera it was taken with as well as when, where, and how the images was taken.
We ran into a similar problem just after the Tsunami...we recived a bunch of pictures of a giant wave coming over a break wall and taking out a bunch of people and cars. After looking closer at the image you could see that it was shot somewhere in Asia...and with a little more digging we found it on the net..it was shot in the early 90's as a typhoon hit Taiwan. Some of the papers were duped into running them. This is something everyone whould be aware of. People should be carefull where they get thier information.

Take a look at the site.

Sorry CharlesTD, your buddy pulled one over on ya!

Would've been nice if his "buddy" had let him in on it, before he got caught with egg on his face!

Ah I have no egg on my face as I trust my friends regardless and if I am proven wrong so be it no big deal to be honest with you. As for having them on his camera well all I know is they were there and that is what I had to go on so why doubt it. Thanks photoj for the info I am going to have to bug the hell out of Dave now for that one LOL. See we don't hold grudges etc we just add it to our ammunition for future use on one another when the time arises hell we have been friends since grade 3 so I doubt it would ever do anything to jeprodise that LOL.

Wow, the pics on that extreme instability website are AMAZING!!!!
Good to give kudos to the photographer who took them. You couldn't pay me enough to get that close to a twister!! I run AWAY from them, not TOWARDS them!!!
