Some Orlando safety info

I do think crime is more isolated in the US…the large majority of the bad stuff happens in poor neighborhoods, the inner city, and is gang/drug related. I know in my neighborhood we have very little crime…many people leave their stuff wide out in the open much of the time and no-one cares. I think it depends where you go…

I'm not sure if you're American or British, but I don't think any one would do that in the UK as crime affects small villages as well as major towns and cities. I have alway's felt perfectly safe when I have been to the US and they don't seem to have the same yob culture we have.

Any google search for 'Orlando crime' or 'Orlando crime rates' should prove that though you're pretty safe in the tourist areas (as they're well policed) the city as a whole does have more than it's fair share of crime and the rate is much higher than the national average. I've always felt safe in Orlando but then i've never really ventured outside of the tourist areas nor do I really have any desire to. I always keep my wits about me though, I live in a city here so it's just a habit.

Thanks for the advice Heather, I think it is very easy for everyone to forget our usual common sense when on holiday! :goodvibes
