The complete minutes from the 1998 OKW Annual Meeting (and prior years) is at http://people.delphi.com/skobel/okw1998.htm

I don't know what has happened to Sue but her minutes were always terrific and are missed. Below are excerpts from her Q&A notes regarding DVC usage of units, the weekend/weekday controversy and other items.

Q. Since OKW is now sold out, what percentage of units are rented out?
A. Members own 96% of the units; the DVD owns 4%. On average, 25% of the units are rented out. This is due to members swapping out. It doesn't skew the members' availability because points have been used for the swap.
Q. If there are maintenance costs incurred on the rentals, do we get anything back?
A. Yes and no. We don't receive anything back on the swaps, but if unfilled rooms are rented during the breakage period, we receive income from that. Our breakage income this year was about $447,000.

Matt gave some statistics that demonstrated why they asked the question about the weekend/weekday allocations. As the chart below shows, room availability jumps on the weekends, but is low on the weekdays during certain times of the year. This makes it hard for members that are trying to book stays that span the times. Their weekend rooms are available, but they can't get rooms during the week.
Rooms available
Week Beginning
2/21 Su-88 M-87 T-79 W-95 Th-91 F-222 Sa-273
3/28 Su-27 M-0 T-1 W-0 Th-0 F-113 Sa-106

The May and July period has a better distribution of room availability. When they look at statistics like this, they have to consider what is best for the overall membership.
As for the home resort priority window, 33% either Strongly Agreed or Agreed with changing the window, 36% either Disagreed or Strongly Disagreed, and 31% were Undecided. The original priority window was 11/10 (i.e., you can make reservations at your home resort 11 months in advance, at other resorts 10 months out.) When they added Hilton Head and Vero Beach, they changed it to 11/7.

(Difficult to reproduce chart. It can be seen on the web site.)

Pam -
Sue is still around somewhere, but I'm not sure if she reads these boards. I forwarded the URL to this post to her husband so he can pass it along to Sue.
