Well, I finally got around to some scrapping. (2001 & 2002 albums) Posted some new layouts on my site if you're interested.

Just click on CassWorld below, then click on Scrapbooking.

Let me know whatcha think! ;)

Your pages are great (as usual).

I always get inspired to get some scrapping done when I look at your pages (thanks, now my kids won't get dinner tonight ;) ).

Thanks for sharing!

Love 'em!

Glad to see you back!! Your layouts are always so pretty!:)

Loretta

Is your favorite color blue? LOL
BEAUTIFUL layouts as usual Cass!
I think you put more work in per layout than I put in for album lol!
Great Job!

welovemickey,
LOL, tell the kids, I'm sorry and to find something in the fridge  I haven't scrapped in about 2 months so it's nice finally getting back into it!

nicurnc,
Thanks for the compliment! It's good to get back to scrapping! I have 56 more days to get caught up so that when I get back from my trip, I can just start that album :p

pattyT,
LOL, yeah, I tend to use blue a lot huh? My two fave colors are purple and blue, which I use as much as possible :teeth:
Actually, I do most of my 2 page layouts in less than an hour, and I am sure you put more effort in your pages than you admit! Scrapbooking is definitely a labor of love!:p

I always enjoy looking at your lay outs. You do such a wonderful job.

Now on the question and answer section.

First thanks for the Alberta info for my friend they leave this Saturday and are very excited to go to Calgary and the surrounding area.

Now the scrapbooking questions.

Cass do you use a sizzix? If so please give tell me what you have and your opinion of it all.

On the 2002 Christmas page what font did you use to write Christmas it's beautiful.

Did you ever send colorblok a letter on the Alpha Stacks?

Thanks for always sharing your beautiful work. I wish I were so talented.

crazyforpooh,

I hope your friends have a good time here! Let me know how they liked it when they get back!

I do have a sizzix, hubby bought it for me with a 50% off coupon at Michaels for my birthday in March. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need more dies though!!! I want them allllll wahhhhhhhhhhhh!! Be prepared to feel the same way if you get one! After we come back from WDW in Nov, I am saving up for the Fun Serif alphabet set as they just got them in at my Michael's!!!!!!!

You can see in my sb's when I got my Sizzix cus I started using it right away! And then you can see when I bought all my dies LOL!!!

The first time I used it was for my hawaii pages...Oahu, the gathering place (fish), Polynesian Cultural center (jungle leaves& palm tree)then Pearl Harbor (stars) HRC (music notes) and on and on...leaves, flowers, pine trees, sunflowers etc...I use it as much as I can!!!

I did e-mail them about the colors, they never got back to me...

Here's my e-mail:

I would like to let you know of a problem that I have experienced using
your product Alpha Stax. I was very excited when I first bought the
letters and looked forward to using them on many of my scrapbook pages.
Upon using the purple colored letters for the first time, I had noticed
that not all the letters were the same color purple. There were several
letters that were more faded than others and were very noticeable upon
completion of my layout.

I am now very leary of using Alpha Stax again, afraid that the letters
in my title chosen may not be all the same color.

I am attaching a jpg file of this above mentioned layout where you can
clearly see the letters "w" and "d" do not match the other letters.

Thank You

Sorry...forgot to answer the font question.

The font I used for Christmas is call Aristocrat and it's one of my faves too!!

I have seen your pages before, they are BEAUTIFUL!! How do you learn to do your pages like that? I am just starting out and have very little imagination when it comes to things like this. I am more of a copier, I can't come up with things on my own. So how can I make pages more like yours? Do you have any tips? Thanks

cristen,
Well my first pages were not very good at all! In fact, look at my wedding album, I believe it was my second or third album I attempted...not very good at all! What happens is you just keep scrapping and somewhere along the way, you get better. You learn from your mistakes and you learn a new technique or whatever and you progress.

Don't feel bad at all about copying! I know some people who just take a magazine layout and copy it exactly! Nothing wrong with that at all! That's what they are there for, take a few elements you like or just copy the whole thing. It all depends on WHY you scrap...some scrap solely for the result of putting their pictures in an album, if that's the case, just find a nice layout somewhere and copy it but with your pics and your journaling. I scrap to give myself a creative outlet...I enjoy coming up with new ideas, new ways to put my pics on the page, etc. Sometimes it doesn't come out very good, but I enjoy doing it and that's all that counts!

Sometimes I look at my website and get to a certain layout and think to myself, geez...what the HECK were you thinking Cass? That looks terrible! But it's what came out of me at the time and it's part of who I am, mistakes and all!

I see layouts in magazines and think, WOW there are so many people with such talent and creativity....I am light years behind them and sometimes I get discouraged and don't want to scrap afterwards cus I know I am not that good. But then I look at my pictures of my husband or my pets or my family and I ENJOY putting it all together on a page with a story and I get to relive that moment in time, which, to me, makes scrapbooking precious!

Start out copying, before long I am sure you will find that you will be adding your personal touches and then you will find your style soon and everyday you will improve!

Good luck and have fun!!!!!!:p

Wow was it fun to look through your albums! You're a great scrapper! I even enjoyed reading your journaling. I'm so glad you do it. :oD Thanks for sharing your website with us. I loved your Disney pages but I really enjoyed looking at your Hawaii pages!

Everyone needs to take a few minutes to look!

Michelle

Hey Cass ,
great work as usual. I loved your cruise album . ( one of the reasons I decided to take a Disney cruise in the first place ). My hubby just brought me a Sizzix also . Hoping to get some of the dies real soon . ( I have two 40% off coupons right now , burning a hole in my pocket ). Keep up the awesome work.

thanks Cass!

What are some of the better magazines to get? I have looked at the two bigs ones in the store, I forget the names, but those are a little intimidating. My housing tract has a scrapbook club, I am going to join. Maybe I can learn some things there. And also I see this EVERYWHERE on these boards, What is a sizzex? And what does it do? Thanks again

Cristen

michelle320,
Thanks for the kind words! I really enjoyed scrapping my Hawaii layouts, it was FUN!!!
Some of my journaling can't be read because of the size
:( but at least you can read most of it!

Cyndi,

Thanks! You're too sweet! Woo hoo, Sizzix! You are going to LOVE it!!!! Let me know how you like it when you start using it! I would love to get more dies, and now they have Sizzlits!!!!!

cristen,
I get Creaking Keepsakes, but most of their layouts intimidate me!!! Sometimes I get depressed after getting the magazine in the mail and won't scrap for weeks LOL  Umm I think CK Simple Scrapbooks is a little better but don't really know any others...maybe some of the fantastic ladies (or a gent or two!) on this board can help you out in that respect and give you some magazine names!

Sizzix is a personal die cutting machine system which is wonderful but expensive!!! Here's a link

Ok, just watched the little movie for it, I have to have it now. Only problem is, I will have NO idea what to use it for. But that is awesome, I think one of the problems I have with scrapbooking is never having enough or the right die cuts for the project. This is great because you make them as you go!! Thank you for telling me about it.

Cristen

Don't EVER take down your website. It is THE BEST personal site I have ever seen. Love the scrapbooking. Fab job!

 That is very sweet of you Heather! (blushing) Actually, you can probably tell from all the blank pages that I am actually trying to expand it a little. We are going to WDW in 54 days so I will have more material to work with

Cass,
Have a great time at WDW. I think we'll be there around the same time. This is a huge vacation for us!
We are spending a week at the AKL, then our grown-up kids are meeting us for a cruise on the Magic:D

Be a lot of scrappin', eh?

Loretta

Loretta,
