Some more code questions--as if there weren't enough!!!

I keep on seeing people mention that only limited rooms are available with the codes and then someone else mentioned the ones at WL go quickly and it is making me nervous (7 months ahead of when they might be released, wow it's gonna be a loooong summer!) So here are my random questions re: codes...

1. When people say limited availability I am picturing a CRT scenario where if you don't call at the precise second they are gone--is this accurate or would a call the first day they are released suffice?

2. What time of day are they usually released--late at night or first thing in the morning--is this a 24 vigil type scenario come August (for November codes)? Or are you told in advance of the actual availability?

3. Would Mousesavers be the first place I would be able to find out or would the boards get them quicker?

4. Any tips on getting a code room once they are released--is it similar to getting a prized PS--call and spit out what you want before the party has a chance to breathe much less greet you?

5. If I got a travel agent could they book a code sooner than the public would know about?

Think that is it for now...oh, here's a non-code question for good measure...
Am I going to be this foaming-at-the-mouth obsessed with all things Disney for the next 9 months or will it ebb and flow...I just feel like I can't think about anything else and the whole world revolves around planning my vacation...It's a great feeling but I am getting nothing else accomplished!!!

Travel agents would know about codes at the same time everyone else would be able to book them. They would have a different phone number to call so they may get one for you instead of waiting on the phone.

When the codes are released chances are you will see it here on the DIS about the same time as Mousesavers.

Usually they are released in the morning. I would suggest looking at Dreams Unlimited because you could go ahead and book a room and they will keep an eye out for any codes that would be released.

:teeth: Most likely foaming-at-the-mouth obsessed-LOL!

I second the idea of contacting Dreams Unlimited. Their quote came back the same as AAA but I know my agent will watch for discounts for me. I usually book WDW myself, but thought I'd give this a try. So far so good :) .

We're staying at WL too (this will be our first time there). Hope ya'll have a wonderful trip!

I received an email from WDW for current passholders the day before the codes were released. Getting a discount on a resort is possible if you are flexible. If you only have one resort you want to stay at, then it gets tough. You should try to decide now what you will do if WL has no discounted rooms available. Since it's the smallest delux, the discounted rooms are very limited, if discounted at all. I have seen times when WL and other resorts are excluded from the discounts.
