Wow! I can't believe the knowledge and expertise on this board! Hopefully you can answer my questions and save me calling them. I think you're more knowledgeable. :worship:

We'll be arriving Sunday morning, 3/29 for an eleven night stay. We've paid for our sites (two sites - one for us and one for daughter, son-in-law and grandaughter) and for 4 "seven day, park hopper, water park" tickets. Last year when my husband and I went, we parked in the overflow lot by the kennels and walked in to do our "check in". Our tickets were "loaded" on the card that they gave us allowing us to enter for magic hours, etc.

If we go through the drive through check in line, will they be able to load our 7 day tickets on the same card? Should I call ahead and confirm our ticket purchase just to make sure they've got everything right? or should I trust that all is well? We have an emailed confirmation with reference numbers and such, but nothing mailed. What are our chances that our sites will be ready at 10:00 a.m.? I've faxed the "request letter" as all of you have suggested, but am hoping that our two sites will be together. They did supply us with a "camp with" number which we noted on the faxed request. :confused3

I'm getting nervous that I've forgotten to do something!!! I don't want that worry to take away from the building excitement to be at the Fort again! Thank you for your help!:cheer2:

They will put your tix on your key card. Take a copy of your email with you just in case anything goes a stray. If your site is not ready, they will give you a number to call and you will have to park in overflow until it is ready. When we were there recently (not last weekend, but the weekend before) there were plenty of sites ready by 10am, but DON'T quote me on that for when you arrive. Don't get nervous, just enjoy yourself!

We were there a few weeks ago with another family and we had 2 sites, we faxed in a request 4 or 5 days out requesting sites together and it worked, we got 2 sites together. We also had each others reservation numbers in the notes section of our reservations so maybe that did it, who knows.

I will tell you that our site wasn't ready when we got there at 1 pm. They sent us to the overflow lot and told us to call back in 30 minutes. Finally at 3pm they just told us to go back and call the front desk if our site was too messy that it hadn't been cleaned yet. It wasn't too bad so we dealt with it, after sitting in the overflow lot for 2 hours we were ready.

As far as loading the tickets on the cards go, we did the drive up registration and they told us we had to go inside. That is where the real problems began, but that is another story.

Good luck and have fun. You better bring nice weather back with you.

Did you buy your tickets yourself and want tickets you have already loaded onto your room key cards?? If so, yes you'll need to go inside.

If you bought your tickets from Disney as part of a package, then they will be automatically loaded onto your room keys!!

Thank you for your prompt answers! :thumbsup2 It sounds like we'll have to go inside - but that's not a problem. We'll park in the overflow, and that way we can unload our golf cart and unhook our car from our motorhome while we wait. Beagles - what problems did you encounter inside at the desk? You're making me nervous again! :scared:

A little off topic, but I am trying to picture how/where you carry a golf cart AND a car with a motorhome.

I don't know how these folks are doing it, but I've seen people drive their GC into the bed of a pick-up truck and tow the truck. I've also seen people with trailers (both open & enclosed) big enough to haul both a car & GC. I know one person who modified his cart so it totally dis-assembles so he can put it in his vehicle (don't remember what he has, but I think it's a mini-van or small SUV). To me, that's too much work, but he's done it for years.

Or, my dream setup:

A Tandem-Tow Dolly! Very cool and a lot lighter than a full-size PU dinghy, better gas milage for traveling and touring at your destination!

Ooh... gotta show that to DH! We're probably in the hybrid a while longer, but eventually want to go up to a MH.

These are very cool, unless you have a 4X4 tow vehicle.:sad1:

I would be really concerned about tongue weight with that set up. :scared1: But seeing the size of trailers some people have compared to tow vehicles, I don't think many care.

I believe the plate for the dinghy's tires is adjustable so you can offset the weight of the cart more, or less, depending on how far forward you affix them. I think using the dolly without a dinghy would be unwise, that would put all of the cart's weight onto the tongue.

Edit: I found this verbiage on the manufacturer's website: The Tandem Tow™ trailers incorporate our patent pending weight adjustment system. By simply loosening 1 bolt, the user can set the tongue weight by moving the car towards the rear in a series of locating positions to distribute the load properly.

Yeah, like that is going to happen. That is basically a cover your a$$ statement by the manufacturer. The unfortunate part is that many people will never see that statement. They will look at the picture on the box and call it close enough.

But back to the original topic kind of, I hope Sewbzzzy is having fun, I think they are on the road already, IIRC they were leaving Michigan this afternoon. They live just a hop skip and a jump from us, although we have never met. Just so they now, we have snow forcasted for Sunday, the day they arrive in sunny(hopefully) florida. :worship:

Wow... sorry I tried to share a solution to the question posed! BTW, this is not some footnote in the documentation but a major feature listed in the top selling points for the product. I think this is a good solution and despite the nay-saying I hope to own one someday... after I find the money to buy a cart, and a dinghy, and a $3,500 dolly! Man, I better get to combing the beaches with that metal detector I got last Christmas.

Don't be sorry, I think it is a great idea, if used properly. Properly being the key word. In fact I have saved the website and will look into it when I finally get a cart too.

I apologize for coming off in a negative manner to you, I think it is great that we share ideas, I am just ticked off I didn't come up with this one. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Keep sharing, many have learned a great deal from your posts, including me. :worship:

Sorry if I took you too harshly, online it can be hard to distinguish between fun-loving reparteē and real punch to the ribs. All is forgiven on my end.

Looking back at my posts it was my fault, you were only trying to post options, it is up to others to use it right. Unfortunately that is the problem with reading things sometimes, you can't here the tone or delivery that goes along with the text.

And with that said, I have never been accused of being the shapest knife in the drawer, but even I would not mess with Santa. :santa:
