Hi all! I have been living within the DIS boards the last few days getting tons of ideas for my (hopefully) Disney wedding in January of 2011, but I have some questions, that may be a bit basic to the more experienced disney brides, but i am clueless :(

My DF and I definitely want a wedding in Disney, however are finding that a wishes wedding still may be a bit on the high end for us, however, I have been reading about the Swan and Dolphin and the weddings they have held there and I think that may definitely be the route we go... so, to help our decision, here are my quiestions:

1 - Is it possibly to still get pro pics in the parks in my wedding dress if I am not DFTW bride? and if not, does anyone have recommendations for places to get some good shots that may still be on property?

2 - Are the illuminations dessert parties available only to DFTW brides? If not, anyone know where I should look for pricing?

3 - DF and I really love the luau at the Polynesian village, and thought that that would be a great idea instead of a reception, but does anyone think that is a lame idea to do that instead of a reception? I don't mind not having the first dance and all that stuff, but I don't know if that would be rude to my guests to do that instead of throwing a wedding reception, I mean, afterall, they will have traveled all the way from Ohio for this...

Well, I guess those are my main ones for now, I know I will post more as I do more research.

Thanks!!

Welcome

You can book any of the parks expect MK if you aren't a Disney Bride. You'll have to call Disney Photography closer to the date (not sure how far out you can book that, I think 6 months)

2 - Are the illuminations dessert parties available only to DFTW brides? If not, anyone know where I should look for pricing?
As long as you and I think your guests are staying as a Disney Resort you can book one, but you will not be allowed to wear your wedding dress
3 - DF and I really love the luau at the Polynesian village, and thought that that would be a great idea instead of a reception, but does anyone think that is a lame idea to do that instead of a reception? Depending on your guest size that sounds like a fun idea. It's the idea my dad wants.

Well, I guess those are my main ones for now, I know I will post more as I do more research.

Thanks!!

I'm not sure how many guests your having, but there is also an Escape wedding option it can accommodate up to 23 guests and are quite a bit cheaper then a Wishes wedding. (about 1/2 the cost)

Hope this helps some.

This helps a ton already, thank you! I didn't know about the Disney Photography so I will definitely get in contact with them.

I'm not sure how many guests exactly but Id be inviting bout 80 and I know at least 30 - 50 will definitely come, so the escape wedding unfortunately wont work. I would love it if it did though.

Thanks so much!
