Some ignorant SW questions

Please forgive me but it has been 12 or more years since the Clampetts have flown anywhere. I used to fly SW all the time when we lived in Dallas and had it down pat. It has been way too long since then and I am nervous.

#1 - Do I print out my boarding pass 24 hours before the actual flight time which is about 1:00 p.m. or just after midnight the day of my flight?

#2 - (this is the really stupid one) When I get to my airport with ticket I printed out and boarding pass I printed out, do I just proceed to check my luggage at the SW ticket desk?

Please stop laughing.

In my opinion, your questions are NOT silly at all! In fact, I am anxious to hear the answers myself! :thumbsup2

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: That's the part that made me laugh :teeth: - not your questions.

(1) Yes, print them out at 24 hrs before your actual flight time, NOT at midnight the night before.

(2) Yes, take your boarding pass (have your ticket on hand, but I don't think you have to show it) and head straight to check your luggage in and then through security.

HTH!

When you get to the check-in area at southwest there are a couple lines make sure you get in the one that states you already have your boarding pass, it's a little quicker than the one where people are in need of printing out their passes at the airport.

You could also look at doing curbside check-in for your checked luggage if it's offered at your airport. Of course, here in Little Rock, sometimes the curbside line is longer than going in and checking in inside.

to the OP, I'm glad you asked these questions, it helps me understand too.

My question is probably silly, here goes:

The confirmation I got in my email stating my reservation #, flights and payment, etc. is my actual ticket, right? I print that out along with my boarding passes? I have nothing else to prove a reservation otherwise.

Thanks! :confused3

Yes, the email confirmation is your "ticket". I would always carry a copy of that plus your printed boarding passes. I also leave a copy of the email with friends/family at home - just in case! You don't actually need the copy, but it gives me peace of mind!
I am an airline employee in Australia, and I am paranoid about losing travel documents - so I think I may be extra careful! :teeth:
