We just planned a trip to disney for dec 18th. we looked at the disney resort and it was about 1500 for the hotel. There is 6 of us. I ended uplooking at downtown disney hotels and found the buena vista palace. The price I got from them will be 987 with a 200 room credit and my 11 year old and 8 year old eat free all day at the hotel. I thought this was a hard deal to pass up. Our other two kids are 16 and 2. I am wondering what people opinions are about this hotel, and having never stayed at a disney resort is it worth the extra money to stay. Just some pointers I have not been to disney since I went with my parents when I was 19. Also is there places close to DTD that we can get reasonable priced food. We will have a car. Thanks a lot.

There are lots of places to eat just off Hotel Plaza on 535. Burger King, McDonalds, TGI Fridays, Perkins, Taco Bell. There is a CiCi pizza around the corner on Palm Parkway, Pizza Hut and Olive Garden. There is also a steak place.

With all those people, you might want to consider renting a condo. That way you have a full kitchen, more bathrooms, more space. We are renting for the first time a condo unit at windsor hills and are looking forward to that. We got the unit for $100 a night. Also have free internet a big pool, close to disney.

But if you decide to stay at the downtown disney hotel, there is many places to eat (but not in walking distance). Down the street there is a mcds, burger king, cicis, pizza hut, subway, and quite a few sit down places. Also if you go a few more miles there is a walmart with groceries) where you can buy snacks.
