Right - so we have (possibly) decided on where to eat for our Feb trip and I was being extra ocd and working out prices (so I can budget, obviously) and am now unsure whether to get a meal plan or just use shareholders discount.

This is what I worked out:

So my questions are:

Can I use just the 2 adult vouchers at face value at Chez Remy for 2 adult set meals and a child set meal?

Can I then use the child voucher at face value in Cafe Mickey?

Am I missing drinks included with voucher use that would save extra money as opposed to using SH discount?

Would you get vouchers for a few euros more to get the hot drinks & pastries?

:thumbsup2

In your case I would be less inclined to get vouchers - you have your SHC discount, you'll be less confined and would you only be eating the pastries to get the use of the vouchers?
Thats what sealed the deal for me - we dont normally stop for drinks and sweet treats in the evening so I couldn't justify the meal plans - plus it meant we were more flexible - like if we arent pushed on dinner any evening we can opt for EoS or Maccies.
Hope this helped!

p.s I love a nice table ;) My planner may have a couple of tables and spreadsheets. Im a geek

So are some of you not planning to eat at every meal? EG Chez remy - 2 vouchers and cafe mickey, just a child voucher?

I had the same dilema, but I just calculated the cost of the vouchers for our stay - eg x people x days = total cost of vouchers. I think you only get the full value if you're going to eat a full 3 course meal at each one.

I'd stick with your shareholders discount, simply because we had some pause gourmande vouchers in April and it was a pain in the behind queueing up at the required time of the day to use them!

Chez Remy - 2 x adult meals & 1 child meal = 96.97e
HB Premium vouchers are 57e face value per adult so would use 2 at face value

Cafe Mickey - Sharing pizzas and using a child voucher for 29e and paying the small difference

Not sure if you can use them at face value in Remy though?

We are def booking Inventions; Remy; Auberge and BBWWS - so with the premium vouchers we would have spare for Cafe Mickey (possibly). We are less flexible for eating as DH has diabetes so we have to plan and make sure we have things booked, rather than risking not getting food.

We do tend to like getting hot chocs etc. Esp as we go int Feb when it is so cold.

But not sure if we would always use them at those times.

I have to have a table to keep my brain straight! :thumbsup2

Yeah, we do like getting treats and hot chocs (DH often needs a snack) but not sure on the timings being so rigid!

Its very important with diabetes, isnt it to not work on the fly so much - I know my Mam always does better when she has a plan. It stops her getting jittery and neglecting herself.
Where I find the vouchers work well is if you want rid of the worry of watching your budget - at least with the vouchers you know you'll have the biggest expense out of the way and if you will use the pause gourmande then maybe it will work best for you to add them :thumbsup2
Let us know what you go with :goodvibes

DH is a nightmare and will skip meals if he could (no excuse considering he has had it for 20 years), which is why I get so ocd about booking a proper meal each day, I can't be faffed with hypos on holiday!

The money is there to the penny either way tbh - I usually preload a card with just our food money - so it makes no difference vouchers or shareholders, I am less inclined to go with the vouchers as last time we used them we did get a few sighs when we produced them. I am also planning on taking flasks this time and hot choc sachets so maybe the pause gourmande vouchers will be a waste, but they are technically free as the totals come in at almost the same for vouchers vs shareholders!

Shareholders discount for me. You won't loose out as it's "upto" 15% saving with the vouchers, but this only works by wating off the set menu offered or buffets. Your shareholders is a guaranteed 15% off anything on the menu ;-)

Hello :)

In all our trips we've only used vouchers once and I didn't find them that useful tbh - only thing was money was taken care of for meals but not for little incidentals. Much prefer shareholder discount as, as others state, you can then choose what you want.

This trip we have neither :(. But for 2 nights I'm not going to worry! ;)

Happy planning!
