Some Hair Help???

Hey guys!! So I have a really cute hairstyle and Im trying to figure out how to style it so it looks like how i got it cut. It is cut like this....




but I cant get it to look like that. I know that she most likely had her done by a hairstylist but I would still like it to be somewhat similar. My hair right now when I try to do it looks like all my hair standing up on one side of my head and the other side is flat. So any help or suggestions would be absolutely great!! I would be happy to answer questions too!! Thanks a ton in advance

Sorry I totally forgot I posted this! Thanks for all the help you guys but I think I have finally figured out thanks to the help of my bff. But I really do appreciate you guys who were willing to help
