Some guest were really upset with not getting any housekeeping!

Ya, they were very inconsiderate of me and a couple other guest in there just trying to get in and out.

Was this recent? I am wondering about the supposed $400/night at AOA. I am not paying even close to that for our Yacht Club stay in a few days. I don't mind that housekeeping does not come in all the time. We are not animals and can easily take what little garbage out with us. I have also never had an issue with having them bring me anything that I needed when asked. You would think that people would be more reasonable in times like this and not want someone to come into your room unnecessarily.

Most of AofA consists of family suites which are in that price range.

Yeah, those are way overpriced. I would rather get 2 rooms but I guess if you have a bunch of little kids, those are a good option.
Right, my LM room was around $100 a night before taxes. They may have paid rack rate.

At the GF last week trash was only collected every other day. Towels and toiletries were replaced at the same time but nothing else.

Our next-door neighbors showed their appreciation by placing their trash outside their door in the hallway. In front of our door :rolleyes2. This included dirty diapers — What a treat to walk out to that aroma in the morning. We were glad when they checked out.

I don't know if this is policy or not, but we're at AoA (LM room) right now near the end of a 10 night stay, and today (after 8 nights) we came back to the room to find our sheets had been changed. We've also had towels replaced and trash removed every other day. No complaints with housekeeping on this stay.

I staid 5 nights at BLT on dvc points in January and they did not take trash out a single time. It got to where we had to use spare bags to aggregate trash (we took out bag here and there ourself to help declutter but always had trash thinking “they have to come today” so clearly they never came to do it). Normally wouldn’t be issue (beyond not getting service we paid for) but we were on floor without trash area and was not convenient having to take elevator up to find floor that had it.

Perhaps they thought they didn't because housekeeping is not making the beds. If no trash pickup or towels all they had to do was ask for it.
Lol...I mean sure I can call and ask for what I want, but I shouldn't have to. If they didn't do the housekeeping they were supposed to do then it's an issue. I, the paying guest, shouldn't have to make sure I call down every other day to make sure they're going to do their job and that I won't have overflowing trash, have shampoo/conditioner, and will have clean towels to dry off with.

I have found it pretty easy to not realize Mousekeeping has visited at times. We keep a clean room, hang up our towels, etc - sometimes if I don’t pay close attention to if they’ve put any fresh towels on the racks, I could easily miss it and think no one had been there.

Other times if we’ve really gone through a bunch of towels, had trash in the room (which is sometimes taken with the room checks), or used the coffee supplies and they’ve replaced them, it’s much more obvious.

You are an awesome moderator. Seriously. Thank you for all you do 🥰

I did love having the shampoo and such on the wall in the shower at AoA. I didn't have to pack any of that. Was not the case at the Yacht Club this past October and I just don't understand why? I was thinking all the resorts had the stuff on the wall in the showers, but not at the Yacht.

That's kind of weird though, at some point somebody has to come in and change the linens for the next guests so changing on Day 4 or 8 at the request of the guest isn't much different.

I wonder if the room has to be empty for a period of time before they do this and other types of 'deep cleaning'. Changing bed linens in an 'active' room might be more 'hazardous' than one that has been empty for 24 hours or some designated period of time.

I was not upset about making my bed or taking trash bags with us for the 4 nights in Nov. Just the 2 of us and we knew what to expect because of the Covid changes. Will do the same this month and if we need anything we will ask.

We were at Pop for 11 nights in October and they never touched the beds.

We stayed at BLT in Oct 2020 and that was our first stay as DVC which meant it was also our first time with housekeeping on day #4 which I was unsure about because i loved coming back to the room to find it all neat and tidy but I LOVED not having Mousekeeping!

and then we also stayed at CCV in Dec 2020..

We did have the trash taken out daily - I think (??) and I didnt mind my messy bed when we came back to the room and I liked having everything right where I left it! We did get new towels on day #4 and when we ran out of coffee they bought us more (actually twice).

I did know going into our stays that Mousekeeping was limited and I was fine with that!

We go back in just over 2 weeks and I'm ready!

MY 2 CENTS: We did a triple split stay for 2 weeks. (just got back today). 6 nights, 4 nights, 3 nights.

Requested towel service on 4th day of first 2.
BWV housekeeping was ALWAYS visible in the halls at various different times of day each of the days. Always asked if we needed anything. Only request was blankets. She (lovely lady) proceeded to give me the 2 blankets and a bag of products!! (never requested) I was delighted. Someone came to room every single day to grab the garbage in left (combined from all cans) inside the door so they could come inside.

2nd resort - BLT was also house-keeping visible on various times of each day. Always said hello and asked if we needed anything. I asked for one pkg of coffee. She gave me 3 with a smile. Lovely person. Garbage pickup EXACTLY as above.

3rd resort - I never saw a single housekeeper in the 3 nights 4 days we were there. NEVER. Never even saw a cart and we actually came back and forth more than the others due to Skyliner. No one came for garbage which actually annoyed me as I had placed it in same spot and really wanted to get rid of it. (I ASKED TWO DIFFERENT CM's at resort where the garbage room was and one said didn't know, the other said 1st floor (what??) No one ever asked me if we wanted anything.

RR is definitely lovely. Liked it last year and liked it this year but DH and I decided no more. The walls seem to be paper thin and, for some reason, anyone talking even normally in the hall reverberates in the room. Same exact thing last year and we are done. Considered buying and thank goodness didn't. Liked many things about the resort but the noise level was insane. OHHHH, also, We got 2 paper plates, 2 paper bowls and along with a couple of pieces of plastic silverware. (it was a studio). Other 2 resorts we got 6 of each. I realize they aren't putting the cute Disney paper plates like they used to but these were crapola and were left only 2. Didn't make a call as I 'presumed' wrongly at some time I would see housekeeping in person. Nope.

That's a shame about RR.. I just watched the Trackers's video of their arrival there and the decor is gorgeous and I was thinking how I'd like to stay there.

However, if the noise travels as you describe, I'd think more than twice. Why aren't new build hotels (not just in Disney) understanding the importance of sound insulation for sleep and privacy? After all, the main reason for booking a room is to have somewhere to sleep in the place you're visiting!

Great to hear you had good experiences at BW and BLT, though.

Hope you had fun on your trip? :earsgirl::earsboy:
