I called this afternoon and got July 12-18, 2BR at BCV We're very excited!

Good for you! Thanks for posting this--I'm planning to call in a few days to try and get a 2BR at BCV in August, so your story gives me some hope!

I called and booked a Value-Standard room studio at AKV for mid-July. I was shocked that this low-point room was available at 6 months out. It was a Saturday night, so I was hoping that would be in my favor and it was. We often go on Saturday and stay overnight before checking into our DVC resort on Sunday. The most recent release of AP discounts excluded weekends. With that bit of news, I decided to find a low point place to stay for that Saturday night and 21 pt. for the AKV was the lowest. If I get a discount at a value/mod for that night, I'll cancel the AKV reservation, but now I know I won't have to pay $175 for one night at a moderate resort (high summer season rates).

I made a ressie for the week of 15 March just last week. I was hoping for a 2br anywhere...but could only get a 1br unit at SSR. I waitlisted for a 2BR at any resort. I saw today that it came through and we now have a 2BR at SSR booked! WOO-HOO!! I know the main pool will be closed, but my kids don't use the slide anyway. As long as we can get into a quiet pool I will be happy. I am on hold with MS now...I want to re-instate my waitlist for a 2BR at either VWL. BCV, or BWV. I am so happy to have a 2 BR now!

On a somewhat related note, Would economic issues mean DVC owners are more likely to "splurge" on higher points rooms? Shorter stay, bigger room. Although with an AP, the only factor in a longer stay is food if you have points and tickets.

Seems to be a lot of availability in better value points oriented categories stated..

I called yesterday and got BCV dedicated two bedroom for august no problem for Aug 14 and Aug 15th. (grant it, its a Fri and Sat, but I decided last minute to lengthen our Disney trip to 10 days - I was shocked I could get a dedicated 2 bedroom.)

Quite honestly, I was shocked. I had my other resort choice(s) ready to go fully expecting the CM to say that there was no availability at BCV for any of my dates. I was speechless for a moment when she said it was available

We wanted to go to AKV for June 12-20 for my birthday and my parents 50th anniversary and I was not able to get moe than 2 days and not two days together. We then asked for our home resort, BCV, and they are sold out also.

Does anyone know if something is going on that week and if there is a reason everything is so booked

I called earlier this week for a 1 bedroom BWV standard view for June 21-26. I got four of the five nights I wanted and waitlisted the one other night. It came through in two days. With all the negativity about availability, I thought I would post some good news. I know a one bedroom is probably the easiest to get but at a little over five months out, and a standard view, I felt pretty lucky.

Nice one. I hope you will enjoy your trip. How I wish we can go as early as June but still we are in planning for our next trip on December, but our minds can change every now and then.

Thank you! I called MS today at exactly 9 am. I had a 3-5 minute wait with a recorded message saying that due to the new RCI offerings they were experiencing high call volume and to use the website to make reservations and to do other member business. I got a warm friendly CM (an older lady) who apologized for the slow service--she said their computer system was not working well and she'd already had to enter her password 3 times that morning.

The CM told me about availability (good news! ) but had to put me on hold for 5-7 minutes while she tried to fix her computer problems and I listened to the "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo" song and what sounded like soundtrack music from old Disney films. When she came back on we made the reservation--and we have a 2BR at BCV for Aug 15-18! It's a lockoff, not dedicated but I'm happy that there was any availability at BCV!

I also asked about BWV for those dates and they have preferred view available--standard and Boardwalk views are all taken.

I called last week too for the BWV for our dates of June 20-June 27. All my dates were open and I was able to book. I was amazed myself. It could be several factors involved.

Economy
RCI offerings
Star Wars Weekend was moved to mid May to mid June.

I was told way back when by a cast member Special Guests involved with SWW usually stay at the BCV or BWV.
