Hi, this is my fist time posting in the Universal Forum. I hope this is the correct place to post this. I figured I would share some pictures I took on my last trip of the amazing queue on the Forbidden Journey Ride. A lot of this was very difficult to capture due to the lighting and movement. Hope you enjoy.

This is the point where I had to exit the line with my bag and camera and go into the child/bag swap waiting room. There is one final thing to see on the line and that is the sorting hat but I could only catch it from a distance before I had to leave the line. I could not get a very good a picture of it since I was a fair distance away from it but here it is from a distance.

That's all. Hope you enjoyed them

Those are better than any publicity shots I've seen! Excellent job. Either there was nobody else in line or you made a bunch of people wish the line moved faster. ;)

Thank you :goodvibes

Fortunately for me as well as the people behind me I did not hold anyone up :) These are actually from 4 times through the line during my trip. The first 3 times I hurried the shots a bit. The last time though I was not riding and I told anyone behind me to pass me.

Great pictures! I love how you captured the portraits and other characters so well. Plus I never even noticed that living root in the plant.

Thanks so much for sharing these. :)

Thank you very much ChrisFL, Planogirl, Metro West and punkin for your kind feedback.

I am happy to share pics of such an incredible queue!!

Ok, those are some great detail shots!! I could not get any decent pics of the moving portraits. When I got to the end of the photo tour line one of the cast members did take me up to the sorting hat in the middle/single rider lane and let me take pics before I turned around, hopefully next time you can ask and get a little closer??

Do you have a flickr stream - I love finding streams to drool over :)

What kind of camera do you have?
I would like to know as well

Hi Chris and TaylorsDad,
I am a Canon shooter and my camera body is a 5d Mark II. It is a great camera that allows for usable pictures at High ISO settings to assist with pictures in Darker areas. I used ISO settings of 12800 and 6400 in the queue. Note that canon is not the only manufacturer that makes DSLRs that can get good pictures at high ISOs unfortunately though for a point and shoot camera user this will not work out.

However, in addition to the camera, the Lens I used was as critical to be able to get the pictures. I have a lens with a very large aperture. It is an 85mm f/1.2 lens. A smaller focal length of the same aperture would probably be even better but this is the only lens I have with such a large aperture. Even with the camera and lens it was brutally difficult to get the moving portraits. The 1.2 aperture gives you a razor thin Depth of Field and my camera struggled with auto focus with the conditions there so I had to try my best with manual focus.

Thank you hbisch. That is a great suggestion to ask a team member to let me get closer to the sorting hat for a picture. I will definitely try that next time. :thumbsup2

Oh, don't mistake me for a professional. Photography is a hobby that I wish I had more time to play with. I love vacations though since I can get away from it all and have some fun with my camera. I did start a trip report that you can go to in my signature to see other pictures from this trip. You can just scroll past my ramblings to look at pictures. I have a lot more of Universal but I have not gotten to post them yet. I don't have a flickr stream. I post my pictures on pbase but I only have some of what I have taken posted there. Don't set the bar too high for me though. If you are interested you can look at http://www.pbase.com/clearskies

Thank you!

Wow great pictures! My daughter was so disappointed that we could not get shots of these since we only had a regular camera. She is going to be so happy to see these. Its hard to explain to people what you were seeing when the picture is of a blank frame...
