Some of you may know I work in an animal shelter. For the most part I love my job. Some days are rough, but overall I love it. There's nothing better than having 30 dogs barking and wagging their tails, excited to see you!
The past couple weeks have been rough there. Full kennel and all kinds of craziness but today I just had one of those moments where I was like "this is why I'm here." I have an older terrier mix, kind of shaggy looking, doesn't really stand out, but very friendly. He's just the typical "pound dog". A wonderful family fell in love with him and decided to adopt. Mom and daughter came in to visit him today so I let them take him into the visiting room. I went in to get him when they were done and the dog was sitting on the girl's lap. Both daughter and dog had the biggest smiles. Daughter looks up and says "this is like holding love in my hands!"
. For the rest of the day I couldn't help but smile everytime I walked past that dog.

You know what Buster is without a doubt THE BEST DOG I have ever had in my life.
He came housetrained, doesn't bark unless there is something to bark at, doesn't bite. Now he is about 15 years old and he is showing his age. He's an old man now and we care for him accordingly.
