SOME CMs at Test Track ...

If you have a CM who is rude to you, get the name from their badge. You do not need to take their photograph or disrupt the line to call for a supervisor. Even if they forgot their badge and are wearing a different one, the supervisors know what name they are wearing. Note the time and place. Stop by Guest Relations and report it. Otherwise there won't be any changes or repercussions. I usually see a lot of posters say "I don't want to take the time to do that" or even "I don't want to get him/her in trouble." It would definitely have more impact than complaining on a message board, and CMs have no business being rude to guests. Even if they are overworked or having a bad day.

I don't think they have slowed it down but I do not like the new ride. It was obviously meant to appeal to kids who spend a lot of time playing video games. If you're going to do a Tron theme then go all out and call it the Tron ride. The queue is an improvement.

Test Track is poorly designed.

In the room before the design stations, it is not very clear that there is one number per GROUP rather than a number per PERSON. Everywhere else in WDW everyone gets their own 'spot' -- think Space Mountain and Soarin'. We watched the CM constantly have to herd groups onto the same number because everyone assumes that Test Track is like every other ride and everyone gets their own block. I can imagine that gets frustrating and breeds a rude CM. Ours wasn't that bad, but was dumbfounded that all the guests were not following instructions. Not that the CM should be excused for being rude, but the ride itself is very poorly designed.

Test Track needs more workstations.

Also the workstations at the end of the ride need to be reprogrammed to NOT be on a stupid timer. We wanted to spend some time redesigning our car so we could take it on the single rider line, but the stations are on a stupid timer with no way to restart. So whoever was there before us got sick of it and left, but there was no way to reset it. We had to wait out the clock. It was obvious that they just loaded the exact same software as in the design room, but that doesn't make sense at the exit.

As far as your lack of response at the time, I totally get it. Sometimes I can be so taken-back by a rude statement that I think I must have misunderstood what was said. I think that this is even more the case when you are trying to insure that everyone in your group is having a good time.

I usually come up with some real zinger responses about 2-3 minutes later.

This is me too!

Have to agree. I now have a pen/paper handy in my bag or pocket. I use it for both good and bad stuff. If I had bad CM interaction, then I would jot down the name on the badge, time/place. Then, report it to Guest Services.
But, I also do it for those CMs who have gone above and beyond as well. I had one parade incident that just showed how wonderful a particular CM was. I stopped at GS, inside MK, and told them I wanted to make a report about a CM. THe poor CM at the counter got white, and looked very sad as he pulled out a report form. He wanted to know what had happened, and started to say how sorry he was that we had had something upset us!! I told him that we were reporting something GOOD!! He was shocked!! But, oh so happy. He said that very few people stop to make good reports. And that all reports go on the CMs employment record as well as go to their supervisor.
I've heard of the 'friend posing as a supervisor' before too....that's why I go to Guest Services instead. They have no vested interest in anything.

an older gentleman CM shouting repeatedly that everyone needed to pull out their keys in order to activate the screens. Two ladies in front of me passed straight thru the area without stopping at a screen, and he yelled at them to return and do the design (is it mandatory?) He seemed exasperated, and there was a general feeling of barely controlled mayhem in the design area.

This may very well have been the same guy from my first problem visit. He was older in relation to most CMs ... probably late 40's or early 50's. He was completely frustrated and was acting like a drill Sargent who couldn't get everyone under control.

He was also insisting that everyone design a car. It was after he got rude with me that I wanted to leave. I had a vague paranoia that he was going to try to tackle me on the way out so I pretended to be designing until time was up. I waited for the doors to open and made a break for it, leaving by the way I came in.

I was moving fast and semi expecting to have him grab me by the back of my shirt with a, "You're not going anywhere, lady! Get your butt back in line!" :rotfl2:

I plan to do this in the future.

There are at least three CMs over the years that have been so outstanding that I still remember them. I wish I had gotten their names to leave them a kind word to make their day better as they did for us. :goodvibes

I will also be ready for the eye rollers and name callers at TT, although I hope to never encounter them again.
