Some Christmas Trip Advice Please

Our Christmas trip has morphed during the last few days, and what was to be a one-day park trip (MK, of course), has turned into a two-day park hopper. We are used to visiting during less crowded times, and my concern is the crowds will make this plan impossible.
We will keep MK to one full day and I am happy that day will be no problem for us. The second day (Dec 23), however, is the issue. Right now, our plan is:
  • EPCOT first thing for Soarin' (SB)
  • TT (SB)
  • Hop over to HS by 1 for lunch res at Mama Melrose (FDP)
  • FP (TSM, Frozen, and Star Tours) for late afternoon
  • Lights at 6:30
  • Fantasmic at 8:30
  • walk to EPCOT
  • Illuminations for 10:30
  • Back to the Fort to collapse :)
In the past few visits, the line up for security at HS has been huge - and that was at a quiet time (last week of August) so how much time should be allowed for security around noon? Is this second day even feasible with the crowds? Is it possible to do Illuminations and Fantasmic in the same night? Do they change either show for Christmas?
Ideally, three days would make this plan more pleasant, but we are trying to keep this to a two-day visit as we are boarding the four-legged members of our family and don't want to extend their stay away from us. Thanks for any advice!

Illuminations has a Christmas tag to it, but I don't know about F!

I think it's doable if you can get the FP+ you want.

As for bag check. Is there anyway you can go bagless? Do you have pants with lots of pockets you could use? You can even put one or two string bags in a pocket to reload your stuff once you're through.

We hopped into HS last year Dec 26 and I don't remember any significant line for bag check...but that was about 5 pm...

That's a great plan! I would single rider test track and rock and roll if you have time. The wait time for TT will be very, very long (like, over an hour) once you get off of Soarin'.

Going without bags makes a lot of sense especially the day we hop.
Thanks so much for all the responses!
