Headed to WDW for March break but very interested in the new DCL Dream ship and pricing out a Chritmas holiday next year - Dream from Dec 18-21 and then 5 or 6 nights either on property or at another Kissimmee resort.

My struggles are this: I have been to WDW at CHristmas and the crowds are nuts - not sure it is worth park passes to fight the crowds..........also, the weather can be iffy.....we like to lay by the pool and suntan........not sure we'd have a warm enough temperature..........and lastly, we only do one major trip over the winter so we would then have to last Jan-April in Ottawa winter.

But love the idea of being away for Christmas.

Any thoughts ...........

HI WE ARE DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW. WE ARE DVC MEMBERS, WE HAVE ANNUAL PASSES SO THAT GIVES US FREEDOM TO MOVE AROUND IF ONE PARK IS BUSIER THAN WE LIKE. USUALLY IF ITS BUSY MK IS THE BUSIEST. YESTERDAY FOR EXAMPLE THEY WERE FILMING IN THE EARLY MORNING THE CHRISTMAS DAY PARADE. IT WAS VERY BUSY THE WHOLE DAY. BUT WE WENT TO EPCOT INSTEAD AND YOU HAD MORE SPACE TO MOVE AROUND. YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT BY EAR, GET fAST PASSES AND PLAN WHEN YOU DO CERTAIN ATTRACTIONS. WE DO THE MICKEYS CHRISTMAS PARTY AT MK . THEY ALLOW ONLY SO MANY TICKETS SOLD. ITS BUSY BUT NOT INSANE. YOU CAN BE THERE FROM 4PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT. THEY HAVE SPECIAL FIREWORKS AND THE CHRISTMAS PARADE. FREE HOT CHOCOLATE AND COOKIES. THE CROWDS THIN OUT AFTER FIREWORKS. WE ALKED STRAIGHT ON RIDES OR HAD MINIMAL WAIT. AS FAR AS WEATHER, WELL THATS IFFY!!!! WE ARRIVED HERE ON MONDAY IT WAS WARM AND SUNNY, 80 DEGREES. THE lAST 5 DAYS ITS BEEN COLD. IT GoT DOWN TO JUST ABOVE FREEZING AT NIGHT A COUPLE TIMES. WE HAVE BEEN WEARING MORE THAN ONE COAT AT TIMES. WE ARE ON THE DREAM FROM DEC 4th to DEC 8th THEn DISNEY FOR A COUPLE DAYS.

I thought the Dream's maiden voyage was in January. Were you really on the new Dream? Would love a trip report and some pics!!

First of all enjoy your trip. There is nothig like disney at christmas. Expect it to be busy i mean real busy. Go with a open mind and do not try to cram 2 weeks worth of vacation into a few days. There will be alot of people doing just that. Just relax enjoy and watch others do just that. Its funny. You can almost imagine them yelling and pointing at there kids your going to have a great vacation even if I have to beat it into you. Poor kids. It is very magical there at Christmas though.
