Some ADR Questions

1) I am renting DVC points for our stay next June. When I go to make my ADRs, do I use the DVC confirmation #? Does it ask for a confirmation #?

2) At what time does the '180' days start? I remember when everything used to be by phone, you had to start dialing at 6:59AM ET so it was ringing @ 7a... when they started taking calls. Since things are online now, does that mean midnight of the 180 days?

3) Is it possible to modify an ADR or do you need to cancel and rebook (or rebook then cancel)? The issue... my DGma & DGpa will be joining us for some meals. So I can plan for a party of 7 and make ADRs as such. BUT, what happens if they decide not to join us? Can we change the ADR to a party of 5 or is it better to make the original with 5 and modify to 7?

4) Just because I don't want to assume... Can you get a Fantasmic dining package and NOT attend Fantasmic?

TIA

Yes, you'll use your DVC number as far as I know. It will ask when you attempt to make a Dining Reservation greater than 180 days out.

Online "rolls over" at 6am Eastern. Phone lines open up at 7am Eastern. So, you can get a 1hr head start by hopping online. Typically, I recommend starting them online, and then if you're still online when 7 rolls around, start calling (and keep trying to book and such while on hold).

No, you cannot modify reservations in this manner. Some CMs seem to have the ability, but most will simply cancel and rebook if you ask to modify. Best thing would be to make all but the pre-paid or CC held reservations for 7 and then just show up with 5 if that's the case.

On the pre-paid/cc held ones, not entirely sure what is the best practice.

4) Just because I don't want to assume... Can you get a Fantasmic dining package and NOT attend Fantasmic?

You can (I'd assume that you just simply don't show up for Fantasmic), although I see absolutely no reason to? Maybe for the MM prix fixe menu? A normal reservation would be much easier to come by than the F! package.
