I have tried to do my research and the answer is just not coming to me... So I figured it was time to put it to the experts.

I am looking at a last family of 3 trip for our son. We went to disney when he was 15 months... less than a year ago. I know we want to go in November and no worries there. But the hotel thing is stressing me out. We had a single room at GCH last time. It was great and convienient for naptime but sitting around in the dark being quiet for 2 hours stunk! Additionally, nightime was bad because he would wake up in the PNP and not go back down until we brought him into bed with us - which was of course a double queen room. And going to bed at 8 wasn't my idea of fun... I'd like to avoid this whole situation again.

Any suggestions on still close hotels, maybe with a 2 bedroom type setup that may have a place other than a pnp for him to sleep? I don't want to do ART or have to shuttle more than 5 min preferably (not counting wait time).

2 suggestions! 1st - Desert Inn and Suites, it is directly across from DLR and it has a separate, very small, living area with TV and a door that closes on the 2 queen room. But - it is a motel with outside corridors and is certainly not as nice as the GCH.
2nd - Holiday Inn and Suites on State College Rd. We stayed there a couple of years ago and the rooms are very nice with a living area with TV, fold out couch, dining table and fridge. But - you have to drive and park at DLR. It is easy I-5 freeway on and off access - but you still have to drive. They also offered free better than continental breakfast that was very good.

I don't have any other suggestions, sorry. We have small kids, just not that small and if they get tired, they will usually take a little snooze in the stroller. That usually works just fine for us.

Carousel is right across the street, and they have kid's suites. Here's a picture: http://www.carouselinnandsuites.com/rates.htm There's a separate kid's room with a bunk bed, I think it closes with a pocket door.

The downside is that it's $199 a night. Also, it's very hard to get one of these rooms. I just checked their schedule, and they do have one available right now for Sunday Nov. 2, for 3 nights, checking out Wed. Nov. 5th. That looks like the only time it's available at all except one other weekend, for the next 3 months. Yikes!

The other thing, is that Carousel has had mixed reviews. Some people have said it's just fine, a reasonably clean and quiet place to sleep and shower, what more do you need. Others have said it was shabby, and/or the service there was very rude. So I guess I would go, but not have expectations of wonderfulness, you know?

I'm pretty sure there's other kids' suites places around, but can't think of them right off hand. :scratchin

Why is it your "last family of 3 trip"? Someone dying?

I'm hoping it's that they are pregnant!

We did GC when our ds was 21 months and we hung out on the balcony while he slept.

Also... we watched tv at bedtime and he fell asleep... eventually.

Good luck! And are you expecting?

:rotfl: I have to crack up at the "is someone dying?" but yes, we are expecting our second in April 2009. So we want to do something special with DS1... which is of course disney!

I never thought of hanging out on the balcony... that would have been smarter, lol.

Thanks for the suggestions. We will not be renting a car - I have family down there and it causes too many problems. They think we should come over every day if we do rent one. Been there, horrible trip. Oh and it would be a during the week trip, so it is a little easier for reservations.

This might sound wierd, but if he is in a pack n play and you only have one room, why not put the PNP in the bathroom while you guys are up in the room and then move it out when you need the bathroom/go to bed? Of course, the bathroom would need to be large enough to do that. The other thing you can do is bring a monitor and try to get a room near a lounge area. A lot of hotels will have small areas withs sofas on most floors (usually near the elevator) and you could sit out there and chat/read and keep tabs on the little one via monitor. You'd only be a few steps away if he woke up.
