Any Dissers out there ever gone to WDW solo? It sems like it would be sort of weird but OK at the same time if u know what I mean. My DH and I have a trip planned but due to my dad's illness we may not both be able to go. We already had to cancel one trip this year and we don't want to lose all our airfare $$$ and points so one of us might have to go solo. Hope we can work something out so we BOTH can go as it is our 30th ANNIV. trip.but if not ---- I would like some advice from you guys out there. Thanks!!!!

I take a solo trip to WDW every summer. It does get lonely at times, but most of the time, I am so happy that I don't have to worry about other people's schedule. I can wake up as early/late as I want, I can eat when I want, I can go to the parks/attractions I want to go to, I can take a break when I want to, etc. Not having to coordinate schedules is so nice!

I'm off to my next solo WDW trip from 8/13-8/21. 3 nights BWI, 5 nights BWV.

I usually take one solo trip in October and I love it!!! Sometimes at night when I'm up in the room it gets a little lonely. But I have to say for the most part I'm just fine.

I hope you and DH do get to go, and your Dad feels better. But if a solo trip is in the works, don't worry. I think WDW is the perfect place for a solo vacation. Personally, I do everything solo that I would normally do if DH was with me!!

Good luck....

I often go solo, about 10 times since we joined DVC. DH just isn't as big a DIsney nut as me-once every year or two is enough for him to visit the world, but I like to go 2-3 times a year. As a matter of fact, the BCV points are considered "my" points-we bought them because I love to stay there on solo trips (DH is an OKW fan). I think DVC studios are perfect for solo stays-like having your own little home. And I love to stay at the Epcot resorts when I'm solo, so convenient to pop in at the International Gateway. Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any questions.

Yes, a number of times (at least 20, probably closer to 50) in the past 10 years. No, I don't live there. I don't have a spouse or family who usually goes with me. Most trips I have friends who go along but by no means all. DVC studios are the greatest accommodations for one person...

I go solo at least twice a year, out of 5-6 trips a year. I always like to have a few solo trips as it is such a different (and wonderful) dynamic to when I go with family or friends. Personally, I don't find it weird at all - Disney is a fantastic place for solo travelers. There is so much to do, so many friendly people to chat with, so many bars, restaurants, and facilities designed to accomodate solos (several higher-end restaurants even serve at bars or display kitchen seating). Not to mention complete freedom of schedule and timing! I see so much that I never see when I'm with a group - even people with the same interests as you when together tend to not linger quite as long or take in the tiniest details. As a solo traveler, I can sleep in; I can jump a resort boat to a destination, and back again, for no other point than to ride on the boat; I can sit on a bench and people-watch for a while; I can go down the tiny little paths and look for new things I've never seen; take the time to read windows above Main Street, or poster details in AK; I can take a nighttime walk around a resort that I'm not even staying at, just to see it.

Traveling solo is immensely freeing and enlightening...and good for you too! We all need a little 'me' time every once in a while!

Yep. I usually know some others that are there at the same time so can meet up with them if I choose to. But this Dec I may end up being on my own pretty much the entire time. It's a nice thing to do every now and again. You get to do exactly what you want to do, when you want to do it. You actually get to meet more people that way as well. I find the hardest thing is eating alone. I still haven't gotten used to that.

I've taken 2 solo trips to WDW and 1 to HHI (as well as some beach trips). I've enjoyed it. There is always someone to talk with if you want, and cast members have been extra attentive, including characters! Give it a try! My next is in February!

DO IT!!! You should definitely try a solo trip at least once!! If you are okay with being alone.. and enjoy your own company .. you will be fine! People are friendly... and it is a wonderful way to do what you want.. when you want to.. or not do anything if you want to. The only downfall is that you may become hooked on solo trips and never want to go with your family again!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

I go all the time solo. The boyfriend is the "anti-Disney" LOL!

I always have a good time (And often think "I am having a much better time then that couple having a knock down drag out fight in front of me" :) )

I've done two solo trips in the last 2yrs and they were the best WDW trips ever for me.:thumbsup2
