Hello all, I'm planning a solo trip to UO. Staying at the HRH. I have a couple of questions for you guys.
1. I booked the trip for 2 initially and well, that's not going to happen now. This shouldn't matter for check in or the likes of that right?
2. Have any of you travelled solo there? Was it weird? Meaning, did you guys feel awkward at being alone wandering through the park? Because, if I'm able to hang with Bart....it's on lol

Awkwardness aside, I'm almost 100% sure the Hulk and HP land will negate any feelings of feeling out of place if any were to arise.

Thanks in advance

I usually go alone due to the working hours of my friends. It's not a big deal and sometimes I prefer it...I can do whatever I want when I want w/o having to wait on someone else.

I think it's only as awkward as you make it. I've never travelled solo to USO but I've been to Disney solo and I think it's awesome. Just go with it and have fun!

Must confess that I felt very awkward when I first started with the solo trips ten years ago but it's mostly evaporated with experience in the parks. None of my usual travel companions are thrill ride people and I've come to love having the freedom to ride all of them as often as I like.

At least once, I'd love to be able to do a solo trip. While I love being with my family, I can do much much more park time in one dose than they can. I like to take my time and meander and enjoy taking pictures and just being there.

It was an unplanned solo. But, I'm not going to let it bother me. I might even try to ride the hulk 50 times in a day

I travel solo A LOT! Mostly to Disney, but I have no problems going solo. As mentioned above, I can do what I want, when I want, without having to consult anyone. I do usually have a day or two where a Friend will meet me at a park, but I'm mostly solo. I have never gotten funny looks or anything. In fact, after telling people I am on a solo trip, I've seen jealousy in some faces when they realize that I have a freedom they don't.

If you're worried about what other people my think, well, don't be. Most people are too busy worried about their own trip and having their own fun to think about you going solo. I've done character shots without kids, I've ridden kids rides without kids and no one has said anything. Just go and have a good time!!

With a family of three and a kid that was airways very Mom-focused at home but Dad-focused at the parks, I ended up being alone on rides anyway. And since my child is a boy I’d go to the bathrooms alone. So really, it’s walking and dining that I added in with a solo trip. Those are no biggie to a person that was pretty much single until she was just turning 31.

Walk at your pace. Rush when you want. Stop and smell the flowers when you want. No making sure people are following you or haven’t left you behind. It’s awesome.

I've never been on a solo vacation, but last trip to UO DW was sick one day. We were staying at RPR, so I just wandered over to IOA for a few hours on my own.

It didn't bother me and I didn't get the impression that anyone was looking at me funny....lol.

Ive gone solo on trips for about 15 years

First solo trip worked out well, only thing that concerned me was the airport

I enjoy setting my own pace in the parks and no set plans until I wake up each morning

The only plans I might have us to
connect with friends and dis peeps sometime in the parks/city walk

Second time you go solo is a piece of cake

We are at UP right now and have seen several solos, guys and girls. Had 1 solo guy in front of us and 1 behind for the Manheim steamroller concert last night.

Go for it.

Kind of awkward, but after a couple Duffs at Moes i don't care anymore.

Ha!! Perfect. I'm pretty excited about it actually. Her loss I suppose. I tend to walk fast (prior military) and it was like pulling teeth when we were somewhere with lots of walking.

I also extended my stay another 2 weeks, because I don't have any prior engagements that were necessary to attend.

I figure if I'm going solo, I might as well do the dis parks while I'm there.
A form of immersion therapy for my woes on travelling alone

An extra 2 weeks? I am totally jealous!! Rent a car and go to Busch Gardens as well!

How amazingly awesome for you. Enjoy. Get the photo passes and seek out every photographer.

Enjoy!! I have gone solo to both WDW and US parks and never felt awkward. I am comfortable going to other places solo, like shopping or to the movies.

The only thing that I don't do solo is a sit down dinner. I just stick to eating at quick service or at the bar.

If I know I'll be eating alone, I try to bring a book or kindle.I

I’m just opposite
I do sit down table service and not many counter quick service eateries when I go solo

I have no problem eating at a sit down restaurant alone. I always have a book on my phone (kindle) to read, but often I find I don't need it. I have a great time watching the other diners and goings on.
