Oh my.
I wake up at 9:42am to DMRick calling me on the phone!!!! I had majorly overslept! I do nothing but shower fast and throw on clothes and get there in 15min (no breakfast- but didn't expect one. They had waited almost an HOUR for me! egads...)
Over to the mall- bought some stuff cheap for the kids when I got home (suckers and the like) and things to have for the next WDW trip without paying a fortune (like the twirly light things) Also got my son a spiderman game at the US store there and a huge bag to carry stuff in... cheaper than the sell at the resort. :) All of it cheap cheap cheap! (but no cheap pins to trade. :( That's okay though, I got some later at The Disney Store here. LOL)

Then while there I had a little bourbon chicken & noodles ($6.59) taking the leftover home with me. (however, it did not get eaten later. There is no point taking leftovers back to a resort room that has no fridge nor a microwave within 5 miles of your room. HAHAHA okay so maybe not 5 miles- but far enough I wouldn't walk it just to warm that plate up- so it ended up getting thrown away anyways) We went to a few other stores trying to find one that she could get her prescription filled at- found some stuff at Hallmark (Mickey stuff like a big huge storybook and a photo album) that was buy one get one half off. :)

Then she dropped me back off at my room (oh how wonderful to be dropped off so close to the room! :) ) and had a little break there just resting for a bit. I couldn't call my husband and kids because it was Basketball game time so I knew they wouldn't be home.

So I head over to epcot and then to BC and asked about doing the tour thing for DVC. I asked a lot of questions and sometimes I think I want to do this and sometimes I don't. I think it's a great thing to do if you normally spend that much on rooms when you stay there- but for someone like me that will usually try to stay the cheapest way possible, it sounds very expensive. Perhaps I will change my mind when my children get older and we have to always pay for 2 rooms everytime we stay somewhere at WDW. LOL
Even if I wanted to do it for SURE, it would be really hard to talk my husband into it at this point. Maybe after a couple more trips he can see the savings it would provide in the long run... but not now.
But I got my voucher! ;)

They gave me a ride over MGM and BARELY made it for the 5pm dinner @ Hollywood & Vine - fantasmic package. They seat me quickly (not very busy at the time in that restaurant) and the food was good. I had some prime rib, mushroom salad (delicious!), southern ceasar salad (hey wait a minute.. how come I can't get THAT anywhere down here?!?), cold new potatoes in vinegar type sauce (delicious), corn, home mashed potatoes w/skin (mmm, like I like it!) and while eating I had to ask the waitress to make sure she didn't clear the table- I wasn't leaving-I was just going to the restroom! (the first time I've ever had to ask that- I don't usually dine alone) and when I returned.. still wanted to try some different foods (since I'd only gotten barely a taste of each thing in case I didn't like it) but the line was HORRENDOUSLY long by that point. So I just got some dessert and she also offered for me to have a coffee or hot cocoa to go (remember this is all one price for the fantasmic dinner pkg- so I'm not sure if they normally offer this? But it's free in my mind, so I accept the hot cocoa... with whip cream she asks? Why sure, why not? LOL)

(big tip for the nice waittress. :) )

Need to be to Fantasmic by 6:30 so I just kill a little time till then walking and window shopping on the way. Seats for Fantasmic AREN'T that great- it's on the side. It wasn't busy that night (value season + cold nights = not that many people out, I guess. LOL) and so I just mosied on over to where everyone else was sitting and sat almost right in front-dead center. :)
Had a lovely conversation with a very sweet 8yr old and her family sitting in front of me (mother commenting that I must be a teacher to get along so well with her shy daughter in that way. Nope, I'm just a mom with an 8yr old daughter too! LOL)

It was great..... I LOVED it. (yes, we did the wave before it started LOL) Definitely better to me than ANY parade or fireworks show (sorry if that offends anyone) and part of me really wishes the kids had seen this (and they probably will on the next trip) but part of me knows that parts of that show would scare the you know what out of my 2yr old and probably the 5yr old also. :(

We did get kinda wet (even though sitting halfway back) but mostly just sprinkles- but constantly. It was SO funny when they had the fire stuff because from where I was sitting I could see ahead and periphally that EVERYONE (well, almost everyone!) leaned in towards the fire (presumably to warm up- I did it also!) when the water was ablaze. HAHAHA I don't know why it was so funny. I guess it's seeing hundreds of people do the same thing- without it being planned? I dunno. It was just cute.

This show was for sure the first time I wished I had brought my camcorder on this trip. :( I also wish I had taken pictures. Did I forget to mention that I used up 4 rolls of film in the first 2 days and hadn't brought more than that because I swore that since I took SO many pictures (22 rolls of film) and so much was on the camcorder from the last trip that I wasn't going to need to take that many pics this time? And I refused to pay the WDW prices for film- so I didn't even get any pictures. OHwell... next time. :)

It was a madhouse getting out of there. But I zipped by (walking ofcourse- not running. This is me we are talking about. LOL) because I was ALONE... not trying to push a stroller and keep my eye constantly on 2 other small children of mine in that crowd. Got the 2nd bus to DTD and got there around 8pm. Pretty fast considering. :)

Did the comedy club (with a delicious fruity drink that I think was called the giggler? I'm not sure. But please don't buy popcorn there unless you like a lot, and I mean a lot, of salt. LOL I like a lot of salt- and yet I couldn't eat that popcorn it was so salty. What's up with the lime and salt overuse at these places? LOL) It was funnier this time, btw. Each time was funnier. I don't know if it was me or the comedians. LOL

Then walked around just people watching and then decided to check out DisneyQuest again and TRY to figure out where everything is! That place can be a bit confusing... didn't do much but figured out where stuff was finally. LOL You know, for future reference. The lines were kinda long though.

Then bought a ticket to see the new Tom Hanks movie (Catch me if you can) and it was great! I really didn't know if I would like this movie or not but I shouldn't have worried... so far I haven't watched a movie Tom Hanks is in that I don't like. He sure can pick em, eh? LOL It was funnier than I thought it would be, with a great ending. You'll have to go see it. :)

So..... back to my room at 1:30am and getting interested in yet ANOTHER lifetime movie.
arghhhhhh someone give me a gun to shoot the tv so I will stop watching these shows and getting interested in them! LOL It's a murder trial one, very reminiscent of a Perry Mason movie and lord knows I can't stop watching a murder trial without finding out the ending.
So while watching it, I make a list of what else I have left to do at the parks that I haven't EVER done, or that I also want to redo before I go home... I don't plan on going to EMH at MK the next day so I don't even set a wake up call! Since Monday is character breakfast at AK and Tuesday is the day I'm leaving midday... this is my last chance to actually sleep in... no kids... no appts, responsibilities, etc.

OH and when I got to the room I had a message that my husband had called around 8pm. Oops, too late to call him back now. :(

So I then shower, use my nice new stuff from the spa TRYING to get that oh so clean and soft feeling the facial gave me (not succeeding- ofcourse LOL), watch the end of the show and then drift off to sleep not worrying about that darn ole Mickey waking me up early.
Haha

On to the next day......

we were eight and one vegetarian and we got something for everyone that no one could complain......thanks so much for reminding me I NEED TO GO........

Was there actually a bus that ran directly from MGM to DTD?
The last few times we were there there was no direct bus to DTD from Epcot (after Illuminations) or MGM (after Fantasmic). We either had to go back to our resort and catch the bus from there to DTD or Cab...

Thanks for the trip report!

I don't know if they normally do this... perhaps because it was value season and no one was at the hotels much and instead were at the parks since they closed early?? Not sure (meaning at Epcot at 9pm maybe there are lots of people needing to get to DTD from the resorts but at 7pm at MGM there were more people there than at the resorts?)

In any case, they did have buses going directly to DTD from MGM that night. There were two that I saw- I got the second one... the first one was full by the time I got closer to the front of the line for it.
