I'm up on time... but where's my Mickey wake up call? It was the front desk that called and since I was ASLEEP when they called (ofcourse) I was kinda confused about what they wanted. LOL I was, after all, expecting MICKEY to call me. But I finally wake up enough to realize they are trying to tell me they are my wake up call. Never did find out why MIckey didn't call- maybe computers messed up at that time?
Showered, dressed, and threw on my Mickey cap over this mess of a hairdo. LOL
Had breakfast at the food court (biscuits and gravy $3.63- the biscuits were not rock hard this time.
) and then on to the bus to Magic Kingdom. Got there at 7:40am and they let us in @ 5 min till 8am.
Noticed lots of characters up front but didn't want to waste time with them unless they were ones the kids didn't already get autographs. So I only went up to Timone for his and I think I hurt Rafiki's feelings (sorry, already got a pic of the kids with him and his autograph) but I pretend I don't notice... I'm on a mission.. doing MK extra magic hour alone and uninhibited!!!
So I head straight for Alien Encounter (using the tip to extend my body so it won't fit on me so tight... which was probably a good idea. I thought it was pretty neat but perhaps it might have been better if I didn't know what to expect.
That's what I get for reading that thread! It's my own fault... didn't get too wet thankfully), Astro Orbitor (yeah, it's a kiddie ride, but one we hadn't done! LOL), Space Mountain (this one a repeat, but I got to be in front this time- and no line wait!!!! but what a walk to get all the way in there! LOL), and on my way to get a FP for Peter Pan I decided to do Mad Tea Party. I don't know why. Maybe just to say I have done it atleast once? LOL Grabbed the FP for Peter Pan (just so I won't have to wait to ride it after getting my haircut) and head over to the barber shop.
I think she did a good job cutting my hair- but I'm glad I wore my cap since they don't wash it (I had attempted to fix it a little that morning and it had styling mousse in it) and they don't dry it or fix it afterwards either. Strictly a haircut and that's it. So I was glad I had my cap to put back on afterwards. LOL But atleast I knew it would be "fixable" later on now that it's shorter and will do what I want it to!!!! She was very nice and did only what I wanted her to (top and sides but don't mess with the back ends because I wasn't sure if she could do it the same way my hairdresser does- which I can't even explain to her!) and earned her big tip.
So the cap goes back on and then to Frontierland (still not time for Peter Pan FP) to ride Splash Mountain with my poncho on (which kept me pretty dry considering) and then off to ride Peter Pan with the FP. Then while I'm there- might as well ride It's a Small World ... since it was walk on!!!! (in fact there was only me and 2 others on the boat and all the boats in front and behind us were empty. LOL) So now that song is stuck in my head for the rest of the day- but that's okay.. it's a good song to get stuck in your head.
Then off to Haunted Mansion (again- and no line there either), then Country Bear Jamboree (which let me tell you... I got a bit teary eyed with the CM's accent. I didn't realize how much I'd missed "home"- which is Texas- until he started talking. hehe)- the show was cute, then Pirates of the Carribean (first time for that also), Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, then took the train to Toontown Fair. I think I did that to check out Donald's boat or something but it was not open. So I walked through to tomorrowland and rode TTA for the first time- interesting and relaxed my footsies for a bit.
Then back on the bus to the resort and there by 2:30pm. If you had told me before my trip that I would be going back to the resort at this time even when I DIDN'T have a child that needed a nap with me- I'd have thought you were nuts. But when the lines are almost all nonexistent - you can do what you want in the parks rather quickly!
So I took a little break & changed my jacket to a thicker one since it was getting cooler and windy today and then decided to head out to MGM just to catch a bus there to GF. Figured it would not be as busy as MK on that day, and I think I was right.
First time to see GF and it's beautiful.... but I'm not sure beautiful enough for my penny-pinching brain to handle paying those prices! LOL Maybe someday.... but not now and not soon. LOL
Checked out the spa treatments and decided on the personalized sea salt body polish and stress recovery facial for the next day. Tried to get a manicure also but they were booked up for days on manicures.
(definitely wouldn't want a pedicure with my mangled big toe and blisters on the bottom of some toes. HAHAHAHA)
Also checked out the lobby and it was beautiful, music was nice. Decided to check out the salon and talked to her about doing my hair and makeup the next day. (I don't usually wear makeup and had only brought a few things along with me on the trip anyway. I really don't "do" makeup so I haven't ever really figured out how to wear it. If I wear makeup- it's base and/or powder, light blush or no blush, and mascara with lipstick. That's it... and not often)
I was just wanting a "pamper" me day.. something I have NEVER done before. So okay, I've had my hair done once upon a time for proms and such- but never have I had a spa treatment (manicures at non-spa places don't count) and I've never had someone just FIX my hair since my prom days-and never do my makeup.)
I also made a PS for a late breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe in between the times of the spa treatments and the salon appt. Looking forward to my day of "pampering" the next day but I'd be lying if I said I also wasn't a bit apprehensive about the spa treatment- especially the body polish. But they assured me they do not see me naked, so I'm okay with that promise. HAHAHAHA
So my plans were to not go to the parks that morning and just have a glorious pamper morning at the spa, breakfast at GF, and then the salon.
Took the monorail to MK (it wasn't that fast- for it to arrive nor to take off to get us there) -then catch the boat from MK to Ft Wilderness. I was trying to get there by 7pm- and barely made it because there is some walking from the boat ramp and I got a bit lost... it was already getting dark (and cold!) Finally found the bus to the location of the campfire.. and settled in with my smores kit and some nachos (that I didn't end up eating- just TOO cold!!!) It got so cold that the guitar player wouldn't come out with the guitar so after a short bit of the kids having fun with Chip and Dale- the show came on and I only watched 15min of Swiss Family Robinson before I said oh man..... this is too cold for me! (ofcourse it was the coldest night while I was there- and I pick that night to be outside, without bringing my gloves or my hat. Ofcourse. LOL)
So I took the bus to the front depot, then a bus from there to Epcot, then a bus from there to the resort. Took forever for the bus to come to FW so the whole trip took a really long time.
Called husband and kids and then head out to DTD- this time with my gloves on!!!! Although this might not be such a great thing because even with gloves on it was so cold I had my hands in my jacket and I FALL going UP the stairs (how this happens, I do not know. I think you have to be a major clutz for it to happen.. not sure. LOL) and couldn't get my hands out of my pockets fast enough so WHAM- right in the corner of the stairs going up my knee takes all my weight. OUCHY. Well, my right knee and my right arm since my hand with glove on wouldn't come out of that pocket fast enough. A nice couple offered to help me while I writhed in pain on the stairs (what a lovely sight that was I'm sure- but atleast I didn't scream or cry! LOL) -but I declined.. making sure to comment so that they would know I was NOT drunk.. hadn't drank a thing! they probably didn't believe me. After all, I was walking into PI.

So then I got back to Adventurer's Club... did I mention I had grabbed my refillable moosehead mug at the resort? I did. I was all set to get drinks for the same price yet 6oz more drink in that mug... as the lady had said when she advertised the darn things in part of the show the other night.
However, there is a really snotty bartender (wish I could remember his name) and he overcharged me twice in that mug. The second time I only caught it because I got a margarita which I had gotten the first night and KNEW how much it had cost then. He was charging me about $2.50 more. When I asked about why it cost more- he said because it was in the mug and you get more.
WHAT??? Who in their right mind would pay $10 for a darn mug just to pay more for the drinks you get in it? She clearly stated you get 6oz more FOR THE SAME PRICE- not for a higher price.
So I tried to talk to a mgr about this but the comedy club show was about to start so I told the "doorhop" that I'd be back later and I take my mug with margarita over there with me.
Almost passed out from the amount of lime in it when I took the first sip. It did not taste like any margarita I've ever had -even at Adv. club!!!!
So I'm trying to watch the show- steaming that I got overcharged and it's not even a drink I can drink. I think that guy did that on purpose. LOL
After 15min I give up and leave and head back over to the Adv club with nasty LIME drink to talk to the mgr. I explained to him what happened and does he apologize for the confusion? OH no... he (mgr Brad!!!) tries to argue with me. But what's funny is that at first he tried to say that you do have to pay more because there's more in it but actually it's just more drink stuff and NOT more alcohol because the can only legally give you the same amount of alcohol in the drink even if it's more drink in a bigger cup. Lovely.. so not only did they LIE and say you get more for the same price but you actually PAY MORE for the SAME amount of alcohol in your drink??
What a great idea to buy that mug huh? I always want to pay more to get the same amount of alcohol in the drink-don't you?

Then finally he admits that IS exactly what the person says in the show when explaining the mug and that it CAN be misleading (can???) and agrees to what? Give me a refund only for the margarita that I haven't drank at all (it's still at the top of the rim) and a few dollars for the mug if I return it.
I'm not refunded for being overcharged on the other drinks in that mug (for the same amount of alcohol that I would have gotten if I'd not had a mug and paid less) and not so much as a sorry or anything. I accept this only because I'm ticked and don't want that stupid nasty tasting margarita and who needs a mug that is just going to cost me MORE for the same amount of drink/alcohol? Not I.
While he walks away-I noticed someone else talking to a "mgr" lookng type person and she had been very close listening to the tail end of our conversation right before that. So I ask her if she is a mgr and she says yes- that the guy was the mgr over beverages and she (mgr Julie!!) was the mgr over the characters/talent or something like that. I can't remember the word she used. but anyway- she was over the actor that had stated all that about the mug to begin with. So we talked a bit and I explained to her the whole thing and she is much nicer, apologizes and says she will look into that because it IS totally misleading and quite the opposite if the bartenders are actually going to charge you more for less instead of charging you the same for more drink/alcohol in the mug... and then she asks me if I would be happier if she did something else for me. And I said well I WOULD like to have a drink- that I came in here for in the first place, but please have someone else make it since that one bartender tried to kill me with a lime overdose (LOL we both chuckled) and then she goes away.
I wait.
And wait.
And then she comes back and says she CAN'T do that for me since the beverage mgr doesn't agree since I already accepted his oh so generous offer to refund me for the drink I returned FULL as well as a few dollars for the return of the mug (less than I paid for it).
So I said fine, I'll take it up with Disney.. but I haven't done so yet. LOL Maybe I will, maybe I won't- but DON'T BUY THE BABY MOOSEHEAD MUG... you're stupid if you do. You'll be paying MORE for the same amount of alcohol. Trust me, just don't do it.

OH she did ask me if she could compensate me by getting me in head of the line for the next show at the comedy club- but at this point I don't want to wait till past midnight to see that show. I just wanted a darn drink that tasted good and not get overcharged for it... I didn't want to be out all night! So I just tell her thank you, but no thank you. I'll take it up with Disney because all I want to do now is go back to the resort. Thanks.
So back to the resort (no bus wait! It was right there- perfect timing) and back in the room by 11:30pm. Room is a mess (did I forget to mention no one cleaned the room at all that day? Not sure why...) so I decide to calm down by just taking a shower and cleaning up a bit. Kinda feeling like home.

I thought I would get to sleep in before my "day of pampering" at the spa/salon/GF but got to thinking about how long it will take to get there for my 9:30am first appt and realized it wasn't really sleeping in. LOL So I set the wake up call for 7:15am.
Oh and I had to buy a sewing kit (note to self, always bring small sewing kit on vacation -so you don't pay a fortune for it in the resort store LOL) because my stupid backpack is feeling the strain of the few items I'm keeping in it and the cloth straps are coming loose at the top seam. (what the hey.. it only cost me $5 at Walmart. LOL)
So I sew that up nice and tight- can't have that coming completely loose while at the parks or something!
In bed (but not quite asleep yet) at 1:30am.

If the heat doesn't stop kicking in so LOUD and scaring me to death everytime I almost fall drift off to sleep I will scream. But atleast no one's turbo toilets have bothered me yet.

I have never been to PI before and I will remember not to buy the Baby Moosehead Mug when I go.
