Solo Trip - How would you spend an afternoon/evening?

I will be in Anaheim for work May 1-4 and I should have several hours free on Monday afternoon/evening. So, that is the inspiration of my post. If you had about six hours to spend in Disneyland, what would you do? I have never done a quick trip, nor have I done a solo trip. Usually, I'm the person pushing around a stroller and schlepping kids onto rides in Fantasyland. I'm so excited to have some solo Disney time and want to make the most of my time there.

What are your favorite rides? Are parades and fireworks a must see? Asking the latter because if they are, then make it a point to see both. And if not, those are times when rides can be a walk on, well you probably know that. Lol
The MSEP is back at its rightful home, I highly recommend seeing it.
I can't say I would bother with park hopping, but if there is something that you are looking forward to doing and or seeing, then fit it into your visit the best you can.
I recommend doing CS only, so as to save time.
Don't forget that FP possibly MP and SRL can be your best friends. :)
Just concentrate on your biggest favorites and then go from there.
Have a fun time... :)

Is park hopping an option? If so, I would do cocktails and appetizers in the CCR lounge and the WOC Dessert Party. Watch Route 66 light up at sundown in Cars Land while enjoying a treat from Ghirardelli's. Make sure to download the DLR app ahead of time so you can keep track of the entertainment schedule (especially MSEP times) and ride line times. For DL, pick your top 3-5 rides or attractions. If you have extra time, have a favorite meal (fried chicken at the Plaza Inn? Corn Dog from the Little Red Wagon?). Make sure to fit in some time for a bit of shopping so that you can get yourself something special.

Take advantage of those single rider lines!! I did a solo trip last year, and it was SOO much more fun than I expected. I didn't think I'd enjoy the parks without some company, but I did not miss the "what do you want to next? I don't know what do you want to do?" that comes along with that. I would recommend the parkhopper, if it's in your budget, because you will get through ride lines quicker - especially using FP. Matterhorn and California Screaming both have single rider lines that let you practically walk on. Also recommend the MSEP, since it's finally back.

Have fun!!

If your are here for a convention, they may have convention ticket prices.

If you are just sticking to Disneyland (and not DCA):
  • Do the rides you can't do when you're with your kids - like Space (Hyperspace, etc.) mountain, Indiana Jones (and as others mentioned, don't forget single rider lines!)
  • Ride them more than once if the lines are short
  • Treat yourself to something yummy
  • Attend a show, watch a band - things you may not always be able to do with kids in tow
  • Sit when you want to sit, and people watch
If you are adding in DCA (which might be a lot if you've only got an afternoon/evening), I'd suggest the same with an addition - check the times/characters in the animation academy and try to plan for a character (or two or three) that you like.

Most of all, go at your own pace - fast or slow - and enjoy!

I could hop, but I don't think I will. So many of our family trips are spent trying to get from attraction to attraction, I really want to be able to take in Disneyland. Though I may splurge and get a two-day, 1 park pass and hit CA for a couple hours on Tuesday evening. I don't think my conference is offering any sort of twilight ticket, so that's kind of a bummer.

Thank you all for the awesome ideas! My main goals are to hit Indy since we always seem to miss that (only my DH and I are tall enough LOL.) I'm also hoping that MSEP will be running on a Monday evening since I don't think we will be back as a family until early 2018.
