After 4 trips this past year (can you say, season pass) with the kids and one other trip with DH, I am coming down to the land of the Mouse for ONE MORE TRIP...and this time...BY MYSELF! :cool1: Don't get me wrong. I LOVED EACH AND EVERY trip with my hubby and kids (well, except for the first few days of January when it was 40 out) :rotfl2: but I am SO excited to be spending a few days to do the adult (NO CHILD SWAP, no whining, no 'I'm tired') marathon of parks. 4 parks in 3 days including ADRs at Garden Grill, Tony's, Plaza & Yak & Yeti (which I was SHOCKED I was able to make all of those at times I wanted 11 days out--Did I mention this was a last minute thing that was decided and planned 2 days ago)? My husband says I'm obsessed. I think he may be right!

i'm jealous. i am dreaming of my next solo trip but i promised my nephew i would take him somewhere special this year. that means disney and i am taking my cousin's daughter so he can have company.

have fun doing whatever you want :goodvibes

Congrats!!:jumping1:

I went on my first solo trip in Dec 06 (well two days solo and the rest with my two sisters)..but I loved the two days by myself, I stayed at POFQ. I went to the Cirque show in DTD my first night and Dis MGM the next day. I had some great pics taken with characters, ate at the Brown Derby, went on all the attractions I wanted to..people watched..took pics..went shopping..sometimes it would feel a little lonely..but it passed pretty fast :goodvibes . Are you staying on site?

Have a great time!

Will also be solo Feb. 28 - Mar. 4. Planning to meet up with friends from home the 1st 3 days, then my DB & DSIL will be over for the last 2.

Here's hoping the weather is great - have a great trip!!!

good for you!

everyone needs some alone time - where better than Disney!

have fun - you know you will miss your kids so have your cell phone charged before you go.

Thanks all!

Yes, I'm staying at Pop Century. It's all about saving money as I spend it :lmao: and all I'm doing is sleeping there so that works for me!

I might be meeting up with one of my co-workers that lives down there, but either way I am looking forward to just being. Hope you all that are going solo enjoy yours too!

Another solo Diser here anxiously counting down the days!!!!

Have a great time!!! I'm doing my first solo trip in October so if you have any tips, let me know when you get back. Say hi to Mickey!!!

Have fun! My DH thinks I've lost my mind not wanting him to join me :rotfl2: I promised him I'd try not to miss him too much:goodvibes My first time solo in just 4 more sleeps and I'm too excited to sleep already!! Just booked it yesterday and using my AP one last time too! THank goodness for AP rates at POP still available and I got a cheap flight too. Will be there Mar 2-6! Enjoy!

I am nervous but oh so excited about this being my first solo trip. I tease everyone and tell them I may enjoy it so much that I spend more time there than anywhere else:):) While I have been to WDW more times than I can count it has always beenwith someone else and I always do what family wants to do...(hey dont we all as Moms aunts etc) To think that I can go do what I want for a change is exciting, because I am always up for a new adventure. Reading the solo board has helped me gain my sense of adventure back:) and I am indeed...too excited to sleep!!!! :cool1:

I am also jealous to you all... and happy that there are such people who can travel solo. Perhaps, one day I also will have such an opportunity. But now I am planning to travel with my family. But it is still amazing!

I am taking my first solo trip May 5-9th. My husband says that I am going to be bored- no way! I can see what I want and finally make it to MK for the opening ceremonies.

I keep telling myself only today and tomorrow then Fl here I come:):)
At first I was upset with my friend for leaving me hanging after I made the reservations but now I am ever so excited. I will post my thoughts when I get back but I want to say that if I can go and enjoy myself SOLO then ANYONE can...you only have to believe in yourself and in the MAGIC:):) not only the magic that is at Disney but the magic within yourself!!!

You will have so much going solo!! I went on my first one in 2006, and now going on my second one in a couple of months for 6 nights/7 days!!

Thanks all...Just got back about 20 minutes ago. I had an awesome time. Of course, I'm exhausted (6am flight back), but it really was fun. The only weird thing I encountered was being in the room at POP by myself...especially the first night. But other than that, my 14 hour days moving at the speed of light was great. And the crowds were totally manageable. At MK yesterday, I did so many things twice. The only thing I waited for was Pirates (about 20 minutes) the first time. Other than that, I never waited for more than 5-10 minutes to get on and for the most part, I was walking onto rides. Of course, strategic fast pass helped too. :thumbsup2 Ditto with Animal Kingdom...Kil Saf 2x, Expedition 2x, Lion King 2x (LOVE that show)...good food too...now, I'm not big into the 'food' experience, but there are a couple places I really do enjoy. Yak & Yeti--lettuce cups are AWESOME! A little spicy, but GREAT! The mandarin chicken salad is good too. And then Garden Grill...characters notwithstanding, it really is a good meal (cheaper for lunch than dinner)...I'm not a big potato fan, but the potatoes there are really good...ditto on the applecrisp dessert (that I took all of 3 bites of (not supposed to have a whole lot of sugar). But overall, it was great and definitely worth it. I worked it out so that my husband will get to take a short trip by himself too (I'm a closet travel agent...ok, not really...just really good at finding the deals). I hope he has as good a time as me (although I doubt he'll be first in line to get in like me). :rotfl2:

I just booked my first solo trip. I am a single parent and all these years has been the kids and I . They are 21 & 18 and between college and summer jobs, I just couldn't seem to plan anything. So I am going alone. I feel so guilty, and I keep asking them if I am doing the right thing, and they both said, GO MOM!

I am actually very excited to be doing this.

Glad you had a great time! Any other things to share? Why was it weird in the Pop room all by yourself? Just not used to it? I secretly desire to take a trip by myself sometime.. want to live vicariously through your report! :rotfl:

I just got back myself and it was a TOTALLY AWESOME experience!!!! I did not have time to get bored although there were times when I felt VERY guilty for the enjoyment I was having ALONE!!!! When I go with everyone else it is rush rush rush...This time I was able to ride everything (TOT 8 times actually...lol) as well as doing some of the other things I wanted to do but doing them at MY pace... I will definitly do this every year now!!!! If I can do this and enjoy it then so can EVERYONE...If you are a true Disney fan this works!!!!!!!

I went solo my first time this past Jan and it was wonderful. I plan on doing it every yr now. :cool1:
