solo trip - Can make a res for "2" but not "1"??

Thought I'd try Be Our Guest (looks like it takes credit card to reserve) on an upcoming trip in Feb 2013. There is availability for 2 guests but not for 1 guest. I wouldn't want to show up alone and have a charge for only having 1 of two people there.

Kind of disappointed, but I guess they want a person in every seat, so I guess I can't be "Our Guest" at BOG, lol

Edited to add: One guest is ok at 8:20 pm on the date I looked at, but the 4:40 pm is only available for 2 people (not one) on 2/11. weird. I'll keep checking though I suppose

I have run into that problem with solo dining, just make it for 2. I have never had a problem doing that.

Even if I have to make the res with a credit card to hold it? If they won't charge me for the "2nd" person, I'll grab it! (if it's still there, that is).

I experienced the same thing when booking my solos ADRs for my trip next month. I couldn't find anything at California Grill for 1 person, so I decided to see what happens if I try for a party of 2...sure enough, there were some times available.

I run into that ll the time as a solo diner. You will be okay, because you will be at a two-top, no matter one diner or two. They will only charge you both, if you fail to show; make sure you get there early and explain your situation.

There are a couple restaurants that do the. Olivia's is one. Just make a res. for 2.
