I've been dreaming of a solo trip since just after my first trip in 2003. I used the new special posted today to make it happen! I get to be there from March 14-21st at the POP Century. Got the whole package for $850 and then the $200 VISA card when I get there!! Not bad for 8 Days/7 Nights! 2 trips in a 4 month time frame does it get better than that? Also hoping for a bounceback offer in Decmeber, can we say GREEDY!

Just wanted to share with a group of people who would understand my excitement!

WOW a solo trip is soo cool!

Heck

i would even go with a solo day!!!!

Thinking of heading up there for my birthday:confused3

Well I think you ought to do that for you birthday! You know you deserve it! :yay:

I am seriously thinking about going during the package dates too. Wasn't planning on going this soon, but I'm not sure I can pass up this deal

That's great!! 2 trips within 4 months of each other - how lucky you are :goodvibes

I will be solo for 4 days in December (my DS15 was going to go with me but opted out for a new computer instead but my DD, DGS and her fiance are joining me for the last 4 days). I can hardly wait - for my "alone" days and my days with my new grandson who's now 1 year old!

Have a great time! I will be taking my second solo trip in a couple of weeks. While I love going with family and friends, I still love my solo trips.

I was planning on heading down to WDW for my trip to Disney when the Christmas decorations are up. My DS (who's 20, btw) have been planning it for about 5 months. Our last trip was in 2006.
Anway, got home from work yesterday and got a, for him, long email. It seems he's fallen a bit behind in college (2nd year) and his boss at work broke his ankle and needs Christopher to work. So, he can't come; which really bums out both of us.
I've got enuff time to cancel w/o eating the whole cost of the trip (date is 12/6-12/12).
But, now I'm thinking of maybe, just maybe, taking a solo trip. To be honest, I'm a little leery of the solo trip thing. I'm 55 and am thinking I'll be self-conscious during the whole time I'm there.
Any words of wisdom to help convince me to go? (Beside the weather; I'm in NW Michigan and we've about 8 inches of snow on the ground already which is too early, imho, for me.)

Most of the time no one would even know you are alone. You could be riding alone because the rest of your party doesn't like that ride. And the fact is no one is really paying attention you anyway. They are absorbed in their own vacation

You should still go, solo is fun to do. You can eat when/where you want and do what you want. There are some DisFriends from these threads that are going solo during those dates, which same are planning to meet.

Yes, I feel so lucky about the double trips, with out the 4/3 deal I wouldn't have got to go! I was/am hoping for a bounce back offer on the December trip which would have me going two times in 2009, I would love that!

Fantastic that you are going to get a shot at going it alone! You will have a wonderful time! I will be there in December too with my Niece and her two DD's. When in December will you be there?

You are right the price is a hard to pass up one. I think you should go for it!

Hooray for the solo-ers! :thumbsup2

Solo-ers rock :rotfl:

Thank you, I plan too! I've got to have a day here and a day there when traveling with my brother, his wife and girls (my normal traveling companions) but this will be the first multi day trip and I couldn't be happier

OH NO don't cancel, I think you will be just fine. It's Disney think about what it's like when you are there with your family, it just feels different than day to day life, you visit with strangers that you would never dream of talking to in real life :rotfl: You will love the freedom of doing as you please. I think you should go for sure!

Dahirsh, you are exactly right, they are all enjoying their vacation, and unconcerned really about what others around them might be doing!

There you go that sounds like a great idea to look others up! I will be there also in December, 13th - 20th, look me up would love to say Hi :yay:

I'll be there 12/13-12/20/08. I'll be solo the first 4 days and am looking forward to it but looking forward more to my daughter & grandbaby joining me the last 4 days

I'm going partially solo the first four days of my trip (12/13-12/20/08), am 55 years old and I think I may be a little self-conscious as well but what the heck - I'm in Disney and I'm looking forward to doing things that nobody else in my family likes to do on vacation (like sitting on the balcony having coffee, people watching, taking pictures). I hope you go - it may be a little lonely at times but so worth the relaxation!!

Thanks all for the words of encouragement. I have pretty much decided to do the solo trip. More than likely it'll be my last trip to the 'world' for quite some time.
