I must admit that although I'm excited about returning to Disneyland after a 20 year hiatus, I am a bit nervous about going there solo. I've found lots of info about doing WDW solo, but not so much about Disneyland.

Can anyone provide or point me to any advice? I will be there on Saturday, October 19th.

Thanks,
:-k

(gotta get a better username)

Can't really help, but I will be there solo for a few days starting Oct 13th. (I will be gone by the time you get there!) I am really looking forward to it, but solo travel does not bother me at all! I will try to post when I get back with some ideas for you.

Thanks a bunch Carol. I would really appreciate whatever comments you might have.

Have a great time!

mkunichi - Disneyland is a great park to do solo. You may want to post your question in the Disneyland forum. Now things I like to do at DL - There is counter service place - just as you get off the railroad in New Orleans Square that sells mint julieps and fritters (they also have them in the resturant there). When you need to people watch this is a great snack to eat while you do this.
You may want to look into eating at the Blue bayou for lunch or dinner when you are there. It is a very relaxing place to eat. One of the best things about being solo you can go where you want when you want. You can watch the shows and/or parades. You can shop til you drop and ride til you spin! You can ride Space Mtn 5 times in a row or never, you can ride the train all the way around 3 times if you like. You can try all the rides in Fantasyland. Splash Mtn can be your laughing place all day long if you want. And you just have to try the Indiana Jones ride at least once. My favorite!

You can go into California Adventure park for a few hours or all day.

Have a great trip!

My advice -- take me with you! I've never been, and we all know how fun it is to take a newbie!

<font color=navy>There are several of us who go to Disneyland to spend a day or two by ourselves. The Disneyland Resort is very safe, and for the most part, people are very friendly. One of the things I like about going solo is what BetsyAnn said - there are so many things you can do without worrying about anyone else.... You can also go on some rides as a single rider, thereby bypassing some of those long rides.

There's lots you can do, and if you have questions, just pm me. :)

I have an AP and sometimes go by myself. I have never had a problem going solo. It is very safe and I do frequently see other solos there.
Heres a tip: there are several rides that have single rider lines (Indy and even Splash Mtn now does) DL does not seem to post a lot of signs about it but if you ask the CM at the end of the line they will tell you where to go.

Lots of great shopping on Main Street and DTD is fun too. There are many shows to enjoy and DCA also has several shows and attractions (Soarin' Over CA also has a single rider line too) Have a blast! :)
