Solo spouses how do you approach?

My husband and I have separate bank accounts. We share household expenses and entertainment, and have a joint savings account we both contribute a specific amount to but then the rest of our checks are our own to do with what we please. So if he doesn't want me spending my money on a solo trip that is his problem. Seriously though my husband approves of my solo trips and I encourage him to do some things separate from me too (like his baseball games). We do go to Disney parks together as well.

this summer i was there with my family for 14 days and on about day 5 or 6 i look over to my wife as my 14 year old was complaining about her feet and my 12 year old and said I'm going to come back here I'm march by my self and she said sounds like i fun time. that was in aug. in october she asked if i had asked for the time off!!!! i had forgotten all about it so i asked for what. my loving wife says your going to WDW and living in Epcot for 10 days i thought. Happy birthday to me i love it.

I tried going without my husband this past Feb. and would never do it again! I was traveling with our 21 year old son and my sister-in-law and it was only for 5 days but I was just miserable without him. The first day it dawned on me that Disney just isn't Disney without him. Sappy I know but we share a love of Disney and for us it's so much better shared. The first morning of our trip I received a text of him and our cat and somehow he got our cat to pose with his tongue stuck out at me. Totally set the tone for the trip and it was his idea that I go. That photo however I treasure!

Every year for my birthday!! It's the best!!! I do what I want, when I want! Embrace the solo trip!!

Hubby started taking a week-long fishing trip with buddies every year. I am totally fine with that - as long as I get equal time, equal budget to do something for myself. I 'saved up' my time and budget and am taking a nice long solo trip in January!
