Solo Signature Dining Questions

Hi all!

I have just added the MYW dining plan to my trip when they added all the restaurants they did this week and reclassified some of the Signature meals as Table Service on the plan. So I have been reviewing my previously made PS's and have been considering paying out of pocket for one of my Character breakfasts and then combining two TS credits for a Signature meal. Was wondering if anyone had suggestions for Signature locations that would be good for a solo? I will be spending most of time in & around the parks so I was considering Brown Derby as I have always wanted to eat there and read a few positive solo reports.

Right now I have PS made for:
Day 1: Le Cellier Dinner
Day 2: Crystal Palace Breakfast
Day 3: San Angel Inn Dinner
Day 4: Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package
Day 5: Donald's Breakfastosaurus & Boma Dinner
Day 6: Kona Cafe Dinner
Day 7: Cinderella's Royal Table Lunch

What I am considering is using TS credit for Le Cellier, San Angel, Donald's, Boma and Kona Cafe. I have to pay myself for H&V as it is Fantasmic. So I was thinking of moving the Kona PS to Day 7, making a Brown Derby PS on Day 6, then paying out of pocket for CP & CRT(I may drop this one) using the TS credits for Brown Derby.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!!!
Mike

BROWN DERBY BABY!

LOL, it's my favorite place on property. You may want to check the menu at AllEars to see if it appeals to you (there isn't a HUGE variety of dishes) but what they have is wonderful. Very relaxed, and I had a great time there solo. I have talked to other solo travelers and their experience has been similar - great service even if you aren't in a large group. Probably because us solo's generally tend to tip better. ;)

Try it!

Another vote for Brown Derby. I've dined here solo (most recently March 2005) and had no problem. I also recommend the crab cakes! :goodvibes

I would suggest using the Kona as the pay for out of pocket. All you need there is an appetizer and dessert. For example, you can't tell from the menu, but the "Sticky Wings" appetizer has 12 wing parts (with a wonderful sauce) as well as a fair-sized salad. I weigh almost 300 pounds and find that to be very filling as a meal, including dinner.

Thanks for all of the advice!! I am easily swayed by public opinion I guess because I just called and made an Advanced Dining Reservation (Vera at reservations made sure I had the right terminology when I asked about priority seating hehehe)for Brown Derby for Day 6 and moved Kona to the same time on Day 7. I will definitely keep your idea in mind too Chesire, sounds like a good one! :sunny:
